Peter: Alright, so this is Psalms 2. Get ready for some real Bible wisdom guys. Lois: Oh Peter, I'm sure it'll be great! Peter: Well, it's all about the Lord being angry and kinda ticked off at the rulers of the world. →

Peter: Alright folks, we’re gonna need a summary of Psalms 3, so here goes. It’s all about David, in the midst of all his enemies, calling out to God for protection and help. He says, “But you, LORD, are a shield around me; you are my glory, the one who holds my head high. →

Peter: Alright, so this is Psalms 4. It's all about David's prayer for God to help him out of a tight spot. He starts out by asking God to answer him when he calls, and to let him be safe from his enemies. →

Lois: Alright, let's see what we got here...Psalms 5. Peter: You mean the one with all the singing and stuff? Lois: Yeah, I guess. It says, "Give ear to my words, O Lord; consider my meditation. Hearken unto the voice of my cry, my King, and my God: for unto thee will I pray". →

Peter: Alright, so here's Psalms 6. According to the Bible, God told this guy David to sing to Him about all the stuff he was going through. Lois: Like what? Peter: Well, it says here that David was feeling pretty down and was asking God to have mercy on him. →

Peter: Alright, so we're talking about Psalms 7. Lois: What's it about? Peter: Well, it's pretty intense. It's a prayer from King David to God, asking for justice against his enemies. He also asks God to protect him and his family. →

Peter: Alright, so Psalms 8! This is a good one. So it starts off with the psalmist saying, "O Lord, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth!" So, like, God must be like really cool, right? →

Lois (reading from the Bible): "I will give thanks to the Lord with my whole heart; I will recount all of your wonderful deeds." Peter: "That's nice, Lois. Hey, remember that time we tried to go on that vacation with the kids and it was a total disaster? →

Peter: So, Psalms 10. Let's see what we got. Stewie: Oh, this won't be boring at all. Brian: Yeah... okay. Peter: Basically, it's about this dude asking God why he lets evil people get away with stuff. He's like, "Why do you hide yourself and let the wicked do whatever they want?" Stewie: So like, why are the Kardashians still on TV? Brian: Ugh, I know, right? It's like, doesn't God see what's going on? Peter: Yup. →

[Peter]: "Okay, so Psalms 11. Got it. Ahem. 'In the Lord I take refuge; how can you say to my soul, 'Flee like a bird to your mountain'? For look, the wicked bend the bow; they make ready their arrow upon the string to shoot in the dark at the upright in heart. →

Peter: Alright, let's see what we got here. Psalms 12. Stewie: So, what are we talking about here? Is it like a story or something? Peter: Well, according to this here, it's about God helping out the good people who pray to him and protecting them from the wicked people who don't. →

Peter: Alright, so this is Psalms 13. It starts off by asking God, "How long will you forget me?" and then goes on to say, "How long will you hide your face from me?" Lois: Oh yeah, I can totally relate to that. →

Peter: Alright, here's Psalms 14. "The fool says in his heart, 'There is no God.' They are corrupt, their deeds are vile; there is no one who does good." Stewie: Oh, no you don't. That's not Family Guy style! Try this: →

Peter: Alright, so this is Psalms 15. It's all about who's worthy of living in the Lord's presence, and all the qualities that person must have. Lois: Yah, like, being blameless and honest, having no slanderous talk, not taking bribes, and not lending money with interest. →

Peter: Alright, guys, let's get this Bible stuff outta the way. Psalms 16. Lois: (Rolls her eyes) Here we go. Brian: Yeah, I mean, it's not like it's gonna be any good. Peter: Hey, I heard that! Anyway, so the author is David and he's like, "Keep me safe, O God, for I have come to you for refuge," which is like totally random. →

Peter: Hey Stewie, why don't ya take a look at this Bible chapter? It's Psalms 17. Stewie: (sarcastically) Oh, that sounds delightful! Peter: Alright, so it starts out with the Psalmist askin' God to hear his prayer and protect him from his enemies. →

1-50. Peter Griffin: Alright, so this is Psalms 18. That's the one where David is super grateful to God for saving him from his enemies and stuff, right? Lois Griffin: That's right, Peter. He says, "I love You, O Lord, my strength. →

Lois: Okay, let's see what we've got here. Psalms 19. Peter: Is that like a teeny-bop band? Lois: No Peter, we're talking about the Bible. This chapter is about how God's glory is revealed in his creation. →

Brian: All right, so in Psalms 20, the Lord answered all of the Israelites' prayers. Meg: Oh yeah, that's when He gave them the victory and the horses, right? Stewie: Oh, horses, you mean like the ones from the movie "Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron?" [Brian and Meg look at each other confused] Stewie: What? They were awesome! [Meg rolls her eyes] Brian: Anyway, yeah, the Lord heard their prayers and answered with a battle cry. →

Peter: Alright, so in Psalms 21, the Lord bestows blessings of joy upon King David. Lois: Oh wow, that sounds nice. Stewie: But wait, he also gives him a crown of pure gold and a shield of victory. Brian: Well, that's one way to make sure he doesn't lose any fights. →

Peter: Alright, so Chapter 22 of the Bible is all about Psalms. It's about this guy who's cryin' out to God for help in the midst of all his sufferin'. Lois: Oh, that's so sad. Brian: Yeah, but then it goes on to talk about how God will save him from his enemies and how he has faith that God will always be there for him. →

Peter: Alright guys, so Psalms 23 starts off with this guy, like, totally chillin' with the Lord and being like, "The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want." Lois: Huh, that's deep. So, what else is going on? →

Peter: Alright, so here we go, Psalms 24. It's a Psalm of David, and it's all about God being the Lord of the universe and everyone on Earth belonging to him. Lois: So, like, is he like the King of the World or something? →

Peter: Alright everyone, let's talk about Psalms 25. The chapter starts with David praying to the Lord and asking for guidance. He says he trusts the Lord and that he needs his help. Lois: Ugh, why can't he just get his act together? →

1-12 Peter: Alright, so Psalms 26:1-12. So the first verse is: "Judge me, O Lord, for I have walked in my integrity, and I have trusted in the Lord without wavering." Lois: So basically, the writer is asking God to judge him, because he has been faithful. →

Peter: Alright, so this is Psalms 27. We got David talking about how he won't be afraid of anything because God is with him. He's like, "Even when his enemies come after him, he's still not afraid". Lois: Sounds like a bad episode of The Walking Dead. →

[Peter] "Alright, so Psalms 28. It starts off with David asking God to hear his cry for help. He says that he knows God won't ignore him, but will answer him when he calls. He compares God's strength to a lion that roars, and God's love and justice to a castle wall that can't be breached. →

Peter: Alright, so Psalms 29. Let's see here. Uh, it's about God's voice thundering over the waters and shaking the wilderness. Lois: Ah, like when the Hulk gets mad! Stewie: Or when my parents get mad at me! →

Peter: All right, so Psalms Chapter 30. We got David, and he's like, "I'll praise you, Lord, because you've pulled me out of the depths of despair. You've kept me from the depths of the grave." Lois: You mean like when your son Chris almost killed you with that giant teddy bear? →

[Peter] Alright, so this is Psalms 31! So, God is the dude's refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. [Lois] Yeah, and he trusts in the Lord and the Lord saves him. [Brian] Yeah! He's been set free and the Lord supports him and delivers him from death. →

[Scene: Peter and Brian are discussing the Bible] Peter: Alright, let's take a look at Psalms 32. Brian: What does it say? Peter: Well, it starts off with a blessing to those whose sins have been forgiven and who have been freed from guilt. →

Peter: Alright, Psalms 33. Here we go. Lois: Ugh, this is gonna be so boring. Meg: Yeah, it's like, what are we even going to say? Brian: Well, the chapter says that all of the Lord's works are done in faithfulness and His words are reliable. →

Peter: Alright, so this Psalms 34 says, “I will bless the Lord at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth.” Lois: That’s nice. Brian: Yeah, but then it gets kinda weird. It says “my soul shall make her boast in the Lord: the humble shall hear thereof, and be glad. →

Peter: Alright, so this is Psalms 35. Lois: Ooh, pretty. Peter: Yeah, it's a real humdinger. So it's all about, uh, David asking God to fight his battles for him against his enemies. Brian: Sounds like a typical episode of Game of Thrones. →

Peter: Alright, in Psalms 36, we got this guy David who's talkin' 'bout God's loving kindness, and how it's like a river of life. Brian: Yeah, he's lovin' it! Chris: Yeah, and then he talks about how the wicked will fall, but the righteous will be blessed. →

Peter: Alright, so Psalms 37... Lois, what'd ya got? Lois: Well, Peter, it's about God telling us not to worry about those who are wicked, because they'll eventually get what's coming to them. Peter: Oh, like what happened to the Wicked Witch of the West? →

[Peter] "Oh boy, it's time to read Psalms 38! So, according to this, it's all about the narrator being in pain and asking God to help him. He's saying that his enemies are attacking him, and his guilt and sin is all weighing down on him. →

Peter: Alright, so it's Psalms 39. Uh, let's see here. "I said, 'I will guard my ways, that I may not sin with my tongue; I will restrain my mouth with a muzzle, as long as the wicked are in my presence. →

Lois: Alright, what do we have today? Peter: Psalms 40! Stewie: Ooh, I know this one! It says, "I waited patiently for the Lord; he turned to me and heard my cry." Brian: I love it when God turns his ear to us. →

Peter: Alright, so according to Psalms 41, y'know what I'm sayin', the Lord will be a support for the righteous and will protect them from their enemies. Lois: Oh, so like, he'll be like a superhero coming to the rescue? →

1-5. Peter: Alright, so this is Psalms 42, and it goes like this: "As the deer pants for streams of water, so my soul pants for you, O God. My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. When can I go and meet with God?" (Psalms 42:1-2) →

Peter: Alright, listen up everyone! This Bible chapter is about Psalms 43. It's about this dude who's feeling down and looking for help from God. He's like, "Send out your light and your truth; let them lead me to your holy mountain, to the place where you live. →

Peter: Alrighty, so uh, this is Psalms 44. Brian: We got a real banger here, Peter. Peter: Yeah, yeah, let's see what it's about. So, uh, it starts off with the Israelites bragging about how awesome their God is, like how He helped them win battles and stuff. →

Peter (as narrator): Alrighty everyone, it's time for a Bible study! This week, we're looking at Psalms 45. Lois: Oh boy! Stewie: Oh, so it's one of those chapters! Peter: That's right, Stewie. This one's about a king and his bride. →

Peter: Alright, so Chapter 46 of the Bible is all about the Psalms. Chris: Is this gonna be one of those long, boring chapters like the last one? Peter: Not if I can help it. Anyways, this one is all about God being a fortress and a refuge for us in times of trouble. →

Peter: Alright, so this chapter is Psalms 47. Lois: What's it about? God: *In a booming voice* Clap your hands, all ye people; shout unto God with the voice of triumph! Stewie: *In an excited voice* Wow! This is going to be a wild ride! →

Lois: Alright, so what's the deal with Psalms 48? Peter: Well, it starts off with a tribute to the greatness of God and how awesome His city, Jerusalem, is. Brian: Wow, He must be pretty powerful if He can make a whole city awesome! →

[Peter] Alright Meg, I'm gonna sum up the Bible for ya. We're up to Psalms 49. It's all about how the rich and powerful can't buy their way into Heaven, so it's pretty much like that old episode of Family Guy when I bought that Rolls Royce. →

Peter: Alright, so in Psalms 50, God is like, "Gather to me my faithful ones who made a covenant with me by sacrifice!" Then he's like, "The heavens declare his righteousness, for God himself is judge." →

Peter: Alright, so Psalms 51. Lois, what do ya got? Lois: Well, it's all about David repenting to God for his sins and asking God to cleanse him. Peter: Oh, yeah? Sounds like some pretty heavy stuff. Hey, Stewie, you got any ideas? →

Peter: Alright, so this is Psalms 52. It's all about this guy who's not very nice and is kinda like a jerk. But then God shows up and he's like, "Hey, you're gonna get it!" And the guy's all like, "Oh no, what did I do wrong?" →

Peter: Alright, so this is Psalms chapter 53. It starts off by saying, 'The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God.' Lois: Wow, that's kind of harsh. Peter: Yeah, but turns out God is real, and the people who deny it are just fooling themselves. →

Peter: Alright guys, this is Psalm 54. So, God is telling us to sing praise and to shout for joy because he saves us from our enemies. He protects us from those who make fun of us, and he will repay them for the wrong they do us. →

Peter: Alright, let's start with Psalms 55. It's about this dude, David, who's feeling really down and scared cuz his enemies are coming after him. He's asking God to protect him, and to make his enemies pay. →

Peter: Alright, so this is Psalms 56. Lois: Ugh, what's it about? Peter: Well, it's about David, and it's talking about how God will keep him safe and how he should have faith in Him. Meg: Yeah, and it's like, if you trust in God, then He will save you from all your troubles or something. →

Peter: Alright everyone, today we're starting with a summary of Psalms 57. Lois: You know Peter, I think this is gonna be a real challenge for you. Peter: Challenge? What challenge? I'm the king of pop culture references. →

Peter: Alright, so here's the deal. In Psalms 58, the writer asks God to judge the wicked. He says that their words are like a serpent's venom, and that their tongues are like a sharp sword. Then, he says that the wicked will be destroyed in an instant and that their children will be swept away. →

Peter Griffin: Alright, so we got Psalms 59. Lois Griffin: Yeah, it starts off with David asking God to save him from his enemies and to protect him. Brian: Ah, the classic hero's journey. Like in Star Wars or The Avengers! →

Peter: So, uh, here's the summary for Psalms 60. Basically, David is asking God for help because the people of Edom have attacked him. He's really frustrated that God has allowed this to happen, but he's still trusting in God to help him. →

Peter: Alright, so Psalms 61. Let's see... It starts out with David crying out to God from a far-off land, asking Him to hear his prayer and come to his rescue. Lois: Oh yeah, like that time I needed a rescue from the Gap at the mall? →

Lois: Hey Peter, look at this chapter from the Bible, Psalms 62. Peter: Alright, let's see here. "For God alone my soul waits in silence; from him comes my salvation. He alone is my rock and my salvation, my fortress; I shall not be greatly shaken. →

Peter: Alright Lois, we're gonna need a summary of Psalms 63 for this one. Lois: Ugh, here we go again. Alright...so it starts off with David expressing his deep yearning for God and saying how much he loves him and how he remembers Him even when he is far away. →

Scene: Peter and Stewie in the living room Peter: Alright, what's the Bible chapter for today? Stewie: Psalms 64. Peter: Ah, Psalms. Where God pronounces his judgements and stuff? Stewie: Yeah, something like that. →

Peter: Alright, so uh, Psalms 65. Uh, let's see here. It's all about God's awesome power and how it's praised by all the people. He blesses us with water, makes the grass and grain grow, and calms the seas. →

Peter: Alright, so this is Psalms 66. It's about praising God for all his amazing gifts. Lois: Yeah, and it's also about how God tests us, but ultimately blesses us. Brian: Yeah, and it's one of the most important passages in the Bible. →

Peter: Alright, so, Psalms 67 is all about God's goodness and grace and how he's blessing us. He wants us to be joyful and to share his goodness with all nations. Lois: Oh wow, that's really nice. Brian: Yeah, you know, like that old saying goes, "Spread the love, spread the grace, spread the goodness like Nutella across a piece of toast!" →

Peter: Alright, Family, it's time for us to get into Psalms 68. Brian: Here we go! Lois: Oh, Peter, this is one of my favorite passages. Peter: Alright, here we go. Stewie: It starts off with the Lord rising up, His enemies scattering and His foes fleeing. →

Peter: Alright, so this Bible chapter is Psalms 69. It's all about this guy who's in a heap of trouble, and he's crying out to God for help. Lois: Oh, sounds like a real bummer. Brian: Yeah, it's kinda like when I was stuck in that hole in my backyard and I kept screaming for someone to get me out. →

Peter: Alrighty, so this is Psalms 70. Let me break it down for ya. Lois: Okay, shoot. Peter: So, the psalmist starts off by saying “Hasten, O God, to save me; come quickly, Lord, to help me.” Then they go on to say “Let those who seek my life be put to shame and confusion; let those who plot my ruin be turned back in dismay. →

Lois: Hey Peter, did you read the Bible today? Peter: Yeah, I read Psalms 71. It was so meta. Lois: What do you mean? Peter: Well, the psalmist was asking God to protect him from his enemies, and to not let them have the satisfaction of seeing him fall. →

Peter: Alright, this is Psalms 72. Here's what it says: Lois: Ooh, tell me, tell me! Peter: Alright, let's see. It starts off with a prayer for the king, asking God to grant him justice and fairness. And then it says that the king's reign should stretch from the river to the ends of the earth. →

Lois: "Alright, Peter, what are you reading now?" Peter: "Oh, this? It's Psalms 73. It's about how the wicked seem to have it easy, while the righteous struggle and suffer." Lois: "Ah, that sounds depressing. →

Peter: Hey Lois, did you hear about this new Bible chapter I heard about? Lois: Not recently, what is it? Peter: Psalms 74! Lois: I see. So what's it about? Peter: Basically, it's about God protecting His people from their enemies. →

Peter: So, this chapter is Psalms 75. It starts off with God telling the people that He is the one who puts down some and lifts up others. Then it says no one can boast unless it's by the Lord's doing. →

Peter: Alright, so Psalms 76. So, what's the deal with this one? Lois: Yeah, it's all about how awesome God is. He's like a superhero, saving the day and all that stuff. Stewie: Oh, I love superheroes! Especially Batman! →

Peter: Alright, here's the deal. Chapter 77 of the Bible is all about this guy, Asaph. Apparently, he's all bummed out, so he starts crying out to God and asking Him all these questions. He's like, "Why have you forgotten me? Why don't you answer me anymore? Why do I have to suffer so much?" →

(Peter as narrator) So, get this, this is what the Book of Psalms is all about. It's like an 80s power ballad, but with a lot more words. So, this chapter, Psalms 78 — it's all about the Lord's mighty deeds and how they were passed down through the ages. →

1-13 Peter: Alright, so this is Psalms 79... [clears throat] "O God, the nations have come into thine inheritance; thy holy temple have they defiled; they have laid Jerusalem on heaps. The dead bodies of thy servants have they given to be meat unto the fowls of the heaven, the flesh of thy saints unto the beasts of the earth. →

(Peter Griffin): Alright, so in Psalms chapter 80, there's this plea to God to restore the Israelites to their former glory. It's like God's a farmer and the Israelites are his vine that he planted. Then God's anger comes and he destroys the vine, but he still wants it to flourish. →

Peter: Alright, we're gonna need a Bible for this one. I got a copy of the Psalms here. Alright, lemme see what it says here in Psalm 81. Lois: Oh Peter, I didn't know you were so religious! Peter: Oh yeah, I'm like the Pope, but more interesting. →

(Peter Griffin) Hey everyone, let's take a look at the book of Psalms, chapter 82. So, this chapter is all about God gathering the leaders of each nation and telling them they're responsible for protecting the people and keeping justice. →

Peter: Alright, here's Psalms 83. "O God, do not remain silent; do not turn a deaf ear, do not stand aloof, O God. See how your enemies growl, how your foes rear their heads. With cunning they conspire against your people; they plot against those you cherish. →

Peter: Alright, so this is Psalms Chapter 84 and it's about, uh, how awesome it is to be in the presence of God. Lois: Yeah, it's like, "Oh my gosh, it's better than watching the Kardashians!" Brian: You mean, it's better than watching a Kardashian. →

Peter: Alright, so for the summary of Psalms 85, it's all about God restoring peace and prosperity to the land. Lois: Yeah, and it talks about how God will forgive the people and bring a spirit of unity and harmony. →

Peter: All right, so Psalms 86 is all about David begging God to be merciful to him and asking for help. He's like, "Be merciful to me, O Lord, for I cry to you all day long." Brian: Did he really say that? →

Peter: Alright, so Psalm 87. It's all about how God has established the holy city of Zion and how it's gonna be awesome. Quagmire: Oh, yeah? What's so great about it? Lois: Well, according to Psalm 87, Zion will be great because it will be a place where people from all over the world can come together and live in harmony. →

Peter: Alright, so this is Psalms 88. Basically, the dude is feeling pretty down. He's feeling like God has forgotten him and he's pretty much forgotten in the world. He's like, "I'm surrounded by those who hate me and I'm in the deep dark pit. →

Lois: So, this is Psalms 89. What's it about? Peter: Oh yeah, that's the one about God's covenant with King David, right? Brian: Right. It talks a lot about God's faithfulness and promises to His people. →

Peter: Alright, here's Psalms 90. It's all about God's eternal love and how He's been around forever and ever and ever. Brian: Yeah, like a really long movie. Stewie: *Rolls his eyes* Alright, I'll take it from here. →

Lois: Alright, let's see what we've got here: Psalms 91. Peter: Ugh, I thought we were done with those. Brian: Whoa, whoa, Peter, don't be so negative. This one's pretty interesting. It's talking about how God will protect us from danger, and that if we trust in Him, we will be safe. →

Peter: Alright, so, uh, we got Psalms 92. Uh, let's see, it says "It is good to give thanks to the Lord, to sing praises to your name, O Most High; to declare your steadfast love in the morning, and your faithfulness by night, on the ten-stringed lyre and the lute, with resounding music upon the harp. →

Stewie: Alright, so we're reading Psalms 93 now, right? Brian: Yup. It says: "The Lord reigns, he is clothed in majesty; the Lord is clothed, he has girded himself with strength. The world also is established, that it cannot be moved. →

Peter: Alright, here we go. Psalms 94. Let's see. Uh oh, Lois, I think we got a bummer here. Lois: What is it, Peter? Peter: This one's about God's judgment on the wicked. You know, like when he smote the Philistines with a plague of locusts or gave them the finger and said, "Go with my blessing. →

Peter: Alright, so this is Psalms 95. It's all about the Lord being awesome, and how we should praise Him. Lois: Yea, I mean, He is pretty amazing, so we should definitely show our appreciation! Brian: Yeah, He's like Superman and the Hulk all rolled into one, plus He can do magic tricks! →

Peter: Alright, so Psalms 96 is all about praising God. You know, like, worshiping and stuff. Lois: Yeah, it says to sing to the Lord a new song, and it talks about how all people should praise Him and give Him glory. →

Lois: Alright, what's the summary for Psalms 97? Peter: Alright, let's see...it's all about praising God because He rules the world, even when the wicked are around. Brian: So, basically, God is the ultimate authority? →

Peter Griffin: Alright, so Psalms 98. This one starts off with a call to make a joyful noise to the Lord, to sing songs and shout for joy. (Brian nods in agreement) Then it talks about how the Lord has made salvation known to all the nations, and how righteousness and justice are the foundations of his throne. →

Brian: Alright, Peter, what do the scriptures say this time? Peter: Well, according to Psalms 99, the Lord is holy, and his name is to be praised in all the earth. He is seated on the throne and is to be feared above all other gods. →

Peter: Alright, let's see here, Psalms 100. Uh, it's about praising God, y'know, for all the good things that He's done for us. Lois: Yeah, and it says to make a joyful noise to the Lord! Meg: You mean like a *Bon Jovi guitar riff*? →

[Peter Griffin] "Psalms 101? Alright, lemme see here. This one's about a dude who wants to live a righteous life. He promises to be careful about the people he hangs out with, and he's gonna try his best to stay away from the corrupt and wicked. →

Brian: Alright, so the psalmist is really depressed. He's feeling forsaken and forgotten by God, and he's pouring out his troubles to the Lord. Peter: Hey, like when I get lonely and I just yell at my TV? →

Peter: Alright, I'm gonna give a rundown of Psalm 103. Lois: Peter, do you think this is really necessary? Peter: Hey, I'm trying to make Bible study fun, Lois! Anyways, according to Psalm 103, God's love and mercy are without end, and He pardons all our sins and heals all our diseases. →

Brian: All right Peter, this is Psalm 104. Peter: Got it. Let's see. "Bless the Lord, O my soul. O Lord my God, thou art very great; thou art clothed with honour and majesty. Who coverest thyself with light as with a garment: who stretchest out the heavens like a curtain. →

Peter: Alright, so Psalms 105...uh, let's see here. It's about God's faithfulness and the nation of Israel, and their relationship with God. Lois: Wow, that actually sounds pretty interesting. Stewie: Whatever, it's still boring. →
