Listen, Jack, here's the deal. Psalm 59 is all about enemies who are trying to do the writer of the Psalm harm. They're talking about what they want to do and how they would like to hurt the person if they could. My father used to say that people like that need to be put in their place. You see, these enemies were literally trying to tear the writer down, but God was gonna have none of it. He said, "No malarkey! I'm gonna protect you and make sure they don't do anything to you." And then God went on to say that he was gonna punish the enemies for their bad behavior. So, uh, you know, the Psalm is basically saying that God is gonna take care of us and make sure that those who try to do us wrong don't succeed. Excuse me, but I'm not joking. That's why we should always have faith in God. C'mon, man, that's the deal.
