• Chapter 1

    Listen, Jack, I'm not joking - here's the deal with Jeremiah 1. See, God called Jeremiah to be a prophet even before he was born, and said to him, "Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.

  • Chapter 2

    Listen, Jack, here's the deal: In Jeremiah 2, God is fed up with the people of Israel and Judah. He says they have forsaken Him, the fountain of living water, and dug their own cisterns, broken cisterns that cannot hold water.

  • Chapter 3

    Listen, Jack, here's the deal. My father used to say, "God never changes," but then you look in Jeremiah 3 and it's like, "C'mon, man! What was that?" God is literally telling us that if you've done wrong, he'll forgive you and take you back.

  • Chapter 4

    Listen, Jack, I'm telling you, this Jeremiah 4, it's something else. My father used to say, "Biden, I tell you what, if ever you read something that's so powerful, so vivid, you'll have to pinch yourself to make sure you're not dreaming.

  • Chapter 5

    Folks, here's the deal. Jeremiah 5 is about a warning from God to Israel, that if they don't turn back to Him and follow His commandments, there'll be major consequences. C'mon, man, I'm telling you, it's no malarkey! God says that if the people don't change their ways, He'll send wild animals to devour the land, the water and the crops.

    Folks, I'm not joking - here's the deal with Jeremiah 6: the people of Judah are going to be in trouble if they don't turn back to God. No malarkey! I mean, literally, the Lord says: "Run for your lives! Go to the fortified cities and cry for help!" C'mon, man! So, the people are warned to listen: "Repent, O Jerusalem, or I will turn away from you and make your land desolate.

    Folks, here’s the deal: I'm not joking, Jeremiah 7 is about the Lord's people not heeding his warnings. No malarkey! He’s literally demanding them to stop their rebellion. C'mon, man! My father used to say that if you don't listen, then you’re gonna suffer the consequences.

  • Chapter 8

    Folks, c'mon man, here's the deal. Jeremiah 8. Man, oh man. Listen Jack, it's pretty bad. So here's what's going on. The Lord says, "Even the stork in the sky knows when it's time to move on. But my people, they don't know the Lord's will.

  • Chapter 9

    Hey, folks! Listen, Jack, I'm not gonna tell you no malarkey. C'mon, man! Here's the deal, Jeremiah 9 is all about the Lord's judgment on Judah and Jerusalem. See here, Jack, they were literally living a life of wickedness, and they were so far away from the Lord that there was no way he could forgive them.

    Folks, I'm not joking. C'mon, man! See here, Jack: Jeremiah 10 is all about how the Lord is the one true God, and how all other gods are just idols made by human hands. My father used to say, "Anything made by human hands is nothing but malarkey!" Not gonna happen.

    Listen, Jack, I tell you what, here's the deal: Jeremiah 11 is all about loyalty to God. My father used to say, "If you don't keep your covenant with the Lord, then uh, you know, literally, no malarkey, you're gonna be sorry".

  • Chapter 12

    Folks, listen up! Here's the deal. Chapter twelve of Jeremiah is all about the Lord sending His people out of the land because of their sins. I mean, c'mon, man - He's trying to get them to turn back to Him, but they just don't want to.

  • Chapter 13

    Folks! I'm not joking, here's the deal. Jeremiah 13 is all about the Lord's angers and how it affects us. See here, Jack, it starts off with the Lord telling Jeremiah to buy himself a linen waistband, and then he's gonna put it on his belly.

  • Chapter 14

    "Listen, Jack, here's the deal. My father used to say, 'Jeremiah 14: a chapter for the ages!' No malarkey! That's what he used to say. Or uh, you know, 'It's a chapter for the record books!' C'mon, man! He wasn't joking.

    Folks, listen up! Here's the deal: Jeremiah 19 is all about God's judgment on the city of Jerusalem. You see, God's people had sinned against him, so he had to punish them for their wicked ways. No malarkey! Now, he did this in a really serious way.

  • Chapter 20

    Listen, Jack, here's the deal. Jeremiah was a prophet of God, and he was really having a tough time. He was depressed, he felt like he was being attacked, and he felt like he was being mocked by people who were supposed to be his friends.

  • Chapter 21

    Listen, Jack, here's the deal: Jeremiah is giving the people of Judah a message from the Lord. He's telling them that if they surrender to the Babylonians, they will live. But if they don't, they will perish.

  • Chapter 22

    Hey, folks! Listen, Jack, Jeremiah 22. Here's the deal: c'mon, man! This chapter is about King Jehoiakim and his sons. No malarkey! The Lord says that Jehoiakim won't be buried like other kings. I'm not joking.

  • Chapter 23

    Folks, I'm tellin' ya, this chapter of Jeremiah is something else. See here, Jack, we got prophets who are sayin' the Lord's gonna bring justice and peace--no malarkey! But then we got others who are saying something else entirely.

    Folks, here's the deal with Jeremiah 24: We got two baskets of figs sittin' there. One basket was full of really ripe figs. C'mon, man, you know, the kind that's so sweet it's like a little slice of heaven.

  • Chapter 25

    C'mon, man! Here's the deal. My father used to say, "Jeremiah 25 is about the Lord's judgement on Judah for their idolatry and wickedness". See here Jack, the Lord tells Jeremiah to warn Judah about the impending judgement, and that it will not be withheld.

    Listen, Jack, I tell you what, here's the deal. We need to talk about Jeremiah 26. Now, c'mon, man, this is a book full of important stuff. Excuse me, but back in the day, my father used to say, "You gotta pay attention to what's going on in Jeremiah 26, literally".

    Listen, Jack, here's the deal: my father used to say that Jeremiah 27 is pretty much about the same old malarkey I've been hearing my whole life. See here, Jack, God tells Jeremiah to put a yoke around his neck and tell the kings of Judah that they have to serve the King of Babylon.

    Folks, my father used to say, c'mon man, that the Lord is the only one who can predict the future - no malarkey! Well, listen, Jack, what do you know, there's an old-time prophet called Hananiah who claims he knows the future, and he's telling the people of Judah that the Lord is gonna bring them back from exile in Babylon.

    Listen, Jack! My Father used to say this, and I'm not joking: God told Jeremiah to write a letter to the Israelites who were in exile in Babylon. He said, "I know the plans I have for you. Don't worry, folks! I'm gonna bring you back home.

  • Chapter 30

    Listen, Jack, no malarkey here. Here's the deal with Jeremiah 30. The Lord says to Jeremiah that the time of punishment and captivity is almost over. He's gonna restore the fortunes of his people and give them hope and a future.

  • Chapter 31

    Listen, Jack. My father used to say, "God never changes, no malarkey!". Here's the deal: Jeremiah 31 is a reminder that God's love for His people is literally unending. He promises to never forget them, and says He will never turn away from them.

  • Chapter 32

    Listen, Jack, my old man used to tell me, "C'mon, man! You can do anything you set your mind to!" And, I tell you what, there was no malarkey when Jeremiah was given a message from the Lord. See here, Jack, the Lord said to Jeremiah, "I'm not joking, I'm gonna give you the land of Benjamin as an inheritance.

    Folks, here's the deal. I'm not joking, literally. See here, Jack, I'm gonna tell you all about Jeremiah 33. My father used to say, "You gotta read the Book, son!" Well, what was that? Jeremiah 33. C'mon, man! I'm talking about the Lord's promise of restoring Judah and Israel, 'cause that's what it's all about.

    Folks, listen here Jack! I'm not gonna lie to ya - this chapter of the Bible is a real doozy. I'll tell ya what - God commanded Jeremiah to proclaim freedom for the Hebrew slaves. Literally, the Lord said, "Each of you must free his Hebrew slaves, both male and female; no malarkey! You must set them free from your service.

    Listen, Jack, here's the deal - c'mon, man, this chapter of the Bible is all about a fella called Jehoiada, and the Rechabites. My father used to say, "Without the Rechabites, we wouldn't have had the Ten Commandments!" Now, I'm not joking here - the Rechabites have been around for a long time, like, thousands of years! See here, Jack, the Rechabites were an ancient Israelite clan, and Jehoiada was their ancestor.

    Folks, listen up. Here's the deal. This is the story of Jeremiah 37, no malarkey. So, back in the day, the King of Babylon had just conquered the city of Jerusalem and took some of the people away as prisoners.

  • Chapter 38

    Folks, listen up! This chapter is about Jeremiah, who was a prophet of God during a challenging time in the history of Israel. He was thrown in a muddy cistern by the king's men and left there to suffer.

    C'mon, man! Here's the deal: Jeremiah 41 tells us that Ishmael was with ten men and had gone to Gedaliah, and they were eating bread together in Mizpah. Then they stood up and slew Gedaliah, the son of Ahikam, who was appointed Governor of Judah by the king of Babylon.

    Folks, listen: here's the deal. My father used to say, if you wanna get the job done, you gotta do what Jeremiah said. I tell you what: not gonna happen if you don't follow the orders. Jeremiah 42 - excuse me - is all about doing what was said.

  • Chapter 43

    Listen, Jack, here's the deal with Jeremiah 43: The Lord tells Jeremiah to go to Tahpanhes, which is in Egypt, and there he'll give the people a message. My father used to say that the message was something about the Lord bringing Nebuchadnezzar, King of Babylon, to destroy the land.

  • Chapter 44

    Listen Jack, this Jeremiah 44 chapter is no malarkey! My father used to say, “Things ain’t gonna work out if you don’t listen to God’s word!” And that’s what God’s saying here. See, the Lord had already told the people of Judah not to worship those fake gods and foreign idols.

    1-5. Folks, I'm tellin' ya, this Jeremiah fella had a lot to say. C'mon, man! Here's the deal: God told Jeremiah that He was gonna give Baruch, Jeremiah's friend, a great inheritance. That's right, an inheritance! Baruch was a good man who had done a lotta good things, so God was gonna reward him.

    Folks, here's the deal. See here, Jack: back in the day, we had this war with the Egyptians. I'm not joking. My father used to say, "If you want to know what happened in the past, look no further than the book of Jeremiah.

  • Chapter 47

    Folks, here's the deal. The Philistines from down South, they had a plan. They wanted to march on the land of the Lord, but I'm not joking - that was not gonna happen. My father used to say, "The Lord has a way of punishing those who don't respect His land".

  • Chapter 48

    Listen, Jack, here's the deal. Jeremiah 48 is about Moab, an ancient kingdom in what is now Jordan. It says that the Lord is gonna bring disaster on Moab for their arrogance and pride. So, no malarkey! Literally, he says that he's gonna cut off every one of Moab's fortresses, and that the cities will be destroyed.

    Folks, listen up, c'mon! Here's the deal. This is Jeremiah 49 and it's all about the nation of Ammon. See here, Jack, the Lord is gonna punish Ammon for the way they treated his people. He's not gonna let them off the hook, no malarkey.

  • Chapter 50

    Listen, Jack, here's the deal – Jeremiah 50 is literally all about judgment, c'mon man! It turns out that the Lord is gonna bring some serious punishment down on Babylon, and all the nations around them are gonna be affected too.

  • Chapter 51

    Folks, listen up. Jeremiah 51 is a powerful passage. See here, Jack, this is a chapter about judgement and vengeance. My father used to say, "God will not be trifled with", and this chapter makes it clear.

  • Chapter 52

    Listen, Jack, here's the deal. My father used to say that Jeremiah 52 is all about the fall of Jerusalem. It was a sad day for the folks living there. See here, Jack, the Chaldeans destroyed the city, and King Zedekiah was taken into captivity.
