    Listen, Jack, no malarkey here: I'm telling you, this chapter is about Nehemiah. See, Nehemiah was an important man in the court of the King of Persia. He was a cup-bearer, which is like a butler, only better.

  • Chapter 2

    C'mon, man! Here's the deal. Listen, Jack - I was in Jerusalem, and I had a plan. I was gonna rebuild the walls, folks! I mean, literally, this was gonna be a big project - My father used to say it was gonna take a lot of hard work and no malarkey! So I got the king's permission, and then I went to the city.

  • Chapter 3

    Listen, Jack, I'm not joking here, this Nehemiah 3 is a big deal. My father used to say, "No malarkey, a man's gotta do what he's gotta do." And he was right. See here, Jack, Nehemiah 3 is about the rebuilding of the wall around Jerusalem.

  • Chapter 4

    Listen, Jack, c'mon man, I'm not joking. We got a lot of work to do here. Folks, Nehemiah chapter four is a real doozy. My father used to say, if you want something done right, you gotta do it yourself.

  • Chapter 5

    Folks, here's the deal. I'm not gonna lie to you, it was a tough time in Jerusalem. My father used to say, "A house divided cannot stand," and man, it was true. We were struggling with poverty and with folks going hungry, so Nehemiah had the bright idea that we should get together and work something out.

  • Chapter 6

    Folks, here's the deal. Nehemiah was determined to finish the wall of Jerusalem, no malarkey. He and his people worked hard and fast, but Sanballat and Tobiah weren't gonna have it. See here, Jack, they sent messages to Nehemiah, threatening to attack him and his people if they didn't stop.

  • Chapter 7

    Well, folks, here's the deal. See, Jack, I'm not joking - Nehemiah 7 is one of the most important chapters in the Bible. Literally, it's about the rebuilding of Jerusalem. My father used to say - it's a "can do" story - and that's no malarkey.

  • Chapter 8

    C'mon, man! Listen, Jack, it's time to talk about Nehemiah 8. Folks, no malarkey, let me tell you about this chapter. Here's the deal: the people of Israel have returned from exile, and they're all gathered together.

  • Chapter 9

    Folks, here's the deal. Nehemiah 9 is about God's people taking an oath to follow his laws, and no malarkey! They were literally devoting themselves to God, and weren't gonna let anyone or anything get in their way.

  • Chapter 10

    Listen, Jack, c'mon man, this is the deal: the people of Israel made a solemn oath to follow the Lord and keep his laws, statutes and decrees. Like, literally, it was a big deal. So they all took an oath and signed a document, and then they all sealed it with their seal.

  • Chapter 11

    Folks, here's the deal: Nehemiah 11 is all about the folks who returned to Jerusalem after the exile. I'm not joking, no malarkey! See here, Jack, they all lived in Jerusalem, and they took over the cities around it.

  • Chapter 12

    Folks, here's the deal. Nehemiah 12 is all about a big celebration. See here, Jack, the people of Israel had just finished rebuilding the walls of Jerusalem. Literally, it was a time for rejoicing. My father used to say, 'It ain't a party until the music starts.

  • Chapter 13

    Folks, here's the deal: no malarkey! I tell ya, Nehemiah 13 is a real doozy. See here, Jack, the Israelites had gone and neglected the commandment of God, and Nehemiah was not having it. He was like, "C'mon, man! We gotta do better than this.
