Folks, here's the deal. Nehemiah was determined to finish the wall of Jerusalem, no malarkey. He and his people worked hard and fast, but Sanballat and Tobiah weren't gonna have it. See here, Jack, they sent messages to Nehemiah, threatening to attack him and his people if they didn't stop. Nehemiah wasn't gonna be intimidated, so he ignored the messages. But then they sent someone to Nehemiah and insisted that he come to the Ono Valley. Nehemiah was like, "No way! I'm not leaving the wall."

But Sanballat and Tobiah didn't give up. They sent another message, this time with a letter. They just wanted to meet and talk, but Nehemiah knew they were up to something. He replied, "I'm literally doing a great work and I can't come down. Why should the work stop while I leave it and come down to you?"

C'mon, man! Sanballat and Tobiah just wouldn't quit. They sent a third message, pretending to be Nehemiah's friends. They asked him to meet them in the Temple, but Nehemiah knew it was a trap. He replied, "I'm not coming down. I'm not joking. My father used to say, 'You can't trust a single word they say.'"

But Sanballat and Tobiah still wouldn't give up. They sent a fourth message, this time with false prophets. They said that Nehemiah should come out and meet them, otherwise bad things would happen. Nehemiah saw right through them. He said, "What was that? I'm doing a great work and I'm not going to come down. Excuse me, but that's just not gonna happen."

In the end, Nehemiah didn't give in to Sanballat and Tobiah's threats. He and his people kept on working and finished the wall of Jerusalem. I tell you what, that's a lesson for us all. No matter how hard the opposition, if you stay focused and keep on working, you can do great things.
