Listen, Jack, no malarkey here: I'm telling you, this chapter is about Nehemiah. See, Nehemiah was an important man in the court of the King of Persia. He was a cup-bearer, which is like a butler, only better. It's literally like he was the King's right-hand man. And so one day, as he was doing his duty, he heard some news that made his heart just sink.

You see, Nehemiah's people, the Israelites, were in bad shape. Their holy city of Jerusalem was in ruins, and the walls were destroyed. Kinda like when the Romans sacked it way back when. Well, Nehemiah was so sad and so angry he literally started to cry. I mean, it was a real tear-jerker. He was just bawling his eyes out, for days on end.

So Nehemiah decided to do something about it. He went to the King and asked for permission to go back to Jerusalem and rebuild the walls. And the King was like, sure thing, pal. So Nehemiah gathered a bunch of workers and he got to work. He was like, c'mon, man, let's get to it.

So they worked hard, and soon the walls were rebuilt. And when the work was done, Nehemiah made a great big speech to the people of Jerusalem. He was like, folks, this is our new home. Let's make it the best home ever.

And that's the story of Nehemiah 1. My father used to say, if you can rebuild a city, you can do anything. I'm not joking. I tell you what. What was that? Oh yeah. God bless you all. Excuse me.
