Folks! I'm not joking, here's the deal. Jeremiah 13 is all about the Lord's angers and how it affects us. See here, Jack, it starts off with the Lord telling Jeremiah to buy himself a linen waistband, and then he's gonna put it on his belly. Literally! No malarkey! Then, after that, he's supposed to go to the Euphrates River and hide the waistband there in a rock. That's right, the Lord wants Jeremiah to put it in a rock! I tell you what, I'm not sure what that's all about, but it's pretty darn mysterious.

Anyways, after that the Lord starts talking about how he's gonna bring disaster on his people. He's gonna make the waistband rot and become useless, just like he's gonna make the people of Judah useless. My father used to say, "Things are gonna get bad, real bad" and I guess that's exactly what the Lord's getting at. He's gonna do this to show how people can't keep their promises to God, and how they'll even forget about Him. Or, uh, you know, how they won't even think of him at all.

C'mon, man! It's like the Lord's saying "What was that? You promised to follow me and now you're not?!" Not gonna happen. He's gonna make sure that everyone knows that he's the one in charge. So, there you have it folks, Jeremiah 13. Excuse me, but it's a reminder to keep our promises to the Lord, or else bad things will happen.
