Folks, here’s the deal: I'm not joking, Jeremiah 7 is about the Lord's people not heeding his warnings. No malarkey! He’s literally demanding them to stop their rebellion. C'mon, man! My father used to say that if you don't listen, then you’re gonna suffer the consequences. See here, Jack, the Lord talks about how the people have made their places of worship into dens of thieves, and uh, you know, how they’ve been sacrificing their own children as burnt offerings. Not gonna happen on my watch! I tell you what, this chapter is about the Lord warning them to get it together or else they’ll be punished severely. Excuse me, but what was that? The Lord says if they don’t believe him, then they’ll be taken away and sent into exile. No way! Literally, the Lord is saying that if they turn back to him, then he’ll turn back to them. Here’s the deal: the Lord is offering them a chance to repent, so they better take it, or else!
