Folks, here's the deal. Jeremiah 39. It's a story about the Babylonians sieging Jerusalem, and it's a real doozy! I tell you what, it's like something out of the dark ages, c'mon man! It's literally like, the entire city is under siege and the Babylonians are just wreaking havoc. I'm not joking. My father used to say, 'Things were bad back then, Joe, but not this bad!' See here, Jack, it was bad.

Anyways, the Babylonians show up, and the King of Judah had to surrender, right? So he did, and the Babylonians took all the treasures of the temple and the palace, you know? What was that? They also took all the people they could capture and they deported them to Babylon. We're talking literal captivity here, folks. Not gonna happen today.

But then, they took it a step further and they burned down the city. They burned down the whole city, folks! I mean, it's like, they didn't even leave anything standing. It was just complete destruction.

And then, to top it all off, they took all of the remaining people who were left in the city and they enslaved them. It was just a terrible thing. No malarkey. So that's the story of Jeremiah 39. Excuse me.
