Alex Trebek: So, what do you do for a living?

Contestant: Well, actually I'm a Bible scholar. I know a lot about the book of Jeremiah.

Alex Trebek: (sighs) Ok, if you insist. What can you tell us about Jeremiah 39?

Contestant: Well, Jeremiah 39 is about the fall of Jerusalem to the Babylonians. Jeremiah warns the people of Jerusalem that if they don't repent, then God will allow the Babylonians to conquer them. They don't listen, and so the Babylonians lay siege to the city. Eventually, Jerusalem is captured and the people are taken into exile in Babylon.

Alex Trebek: (visibly frustrated) Is there anything else you'd like to share?

Contestant: Actually, yes. In Jeremiah 39, God also promises to preserve a remnant of Jerusalem and to restore them to their homeland someday.

Alex Trebek: (very obviously trying to change the subject) Well, let's move on to something else. What's your favorite type of music?
