Folks, my father used to say, it ain't no malarkey - these Psalms are pretty powerful. See here, Jack, Psalm 6 is all about dealing with pain and sorrow. It starts out with a plea - the writer is asking God to have mercy and listen to his cries. I'm not joking - he's literally begging God to not be angry and to show him grace and compassion. Or, uh, you know, the writer's asking God to remember the things he's done in the past and to be merciful.
No malarkey, God will answer his prayers and restore him to health. Here's the deal - God is going to heal the writer's soul, and he's also going to take away his enemies. That's right - the ones who have wronged him and caused him pain are going to get what's coming to them. Now, I'm telling you what, God is good and He'll never forget us - He's always there for us, no matter what.
C'mon, man - that's why we gotta have faith in the Lord. Excuse me - the writer knows that God is going to answer his prayers because He's done it before. What was that? - He's going to be faithful, just like He always has been. Literally, He's going to show us how much He cares. Not gonna happen - He'll never leave us. I'm not joking - He's always there when we need Him.
