Peter: So, uh, the Bible chapter we're talking about today is Jeremiah 1.

Lois: Oh, okay. What's it about?

Peter: Well, it's about this prophet named Jeremiah who God called to be a prophet when he was a young boy. He was reluctant at first, but eventually God told him he was chosen to be a prophet of God's word. And then God gave him a message to tell the people of Judah to repent from their wicked ways or else they would be punished.

Brian: You know, this reminds me of that episode of Family Guy where I was called to be a prophet, but I was too scared to do it.

Lois: Yeah, that was a funny episode. But what else did God tell Jeremiah?

Peter: Well, God told Jeremiah that he would have to be strong and courageous and not let anyone intimidate him. He also told him that he would be like a fortified city, an iron pillar, and a wall of bronze against the whole land. He also said that he would be successful in whatever he did, and that no one would be able to stand against him.

Stewie: Wow, that's intense. Sounds like God was really setting Jeremiah up for success!

Peter: Yeah, it sure does! But then God told Jeremiah to go out and proclaim his message to the people. He told him to not be afraid or discouraged, because God would be with him and would protect him. So Jeremiah went out and proclaimed God's word to the people, even though they didn't listen to him.

Lois: Wow, that's really inspiring.

Peter: Yeah, it sure is! And that's the end of Jeremiah 1.

Stewie: Y'know, this is just like that episode of Family Guy where I had to go out and proclaim my message to the people, but they didn't listen to me either.

Lois: Yeah, Stewie, that was an episode of South Park.
