7-64:12

Peter: Alright, so, Isaiah 63:7-64:12 is about God coming to save his people.

Lois: Oh, like the scene in The Avengers where Iron Man saves the day?

Peter: Yeah, kinda like that. God is like, "I come to save you with a strong hand and an outstretched arm." Then in Isaiah 64:1-2, He's like, "Oh, if only you were able to make mountains shake like they did in that old Tom Cruise movie, Days of Thunder!"

Brian: What?

Peter: Don't worry about it, Brian. Anyways, God's people are asking for Him to show His power and redeem them. But God's like, "Nah, my people have sinned and made me mad, so I'm gonna have to punish them."

Lois: Ugh, like when your mom puts you in timeout?

Peter: Yeah, kinda like that. But then, in Isaiah 64:11-12, God's people are like, "We can't do anything without You, so why don't You come and help us?"

Brian: So, God's people are pleading with Him to come and save them?

Peter: Yeah, like in that episode of The Simpsons where Homer pleads with God to help him find his car keys.
