Peter: Alright, so this is Isaiah 57. It says, "The righteous perish, and no one takes it to heart; the devout are taken away, and no one understands that the righteous are taken away to be spared from evil. Those who walk righteously are kept safe, but those who follow wicked ways will fall into the pit."

Lois: So, basically, if we do good things, good things will happen to us, and if we do bad things, bad things will happen?

Brian: Yeah, but it's a lot more complicated than that. It's kind of like that line from The Matrix. You remember, the one where Morpheus said, "You take the blue pill, the story ends; you wake up in your bed and believe whatever you want to believe. You take the red pill, you stay in Wonderland, and I show you how deep the rabbit hole goes."

Stewie: That's not even what the Bible says! It's more like, if you do good things, you will get a reward, but if you do bad things, you will get punished. Like that song from High School Musical, "What Time is It? Time to Get Punished!"

Peter: Alright, let's keep this on track, guys. As Isaiah 57 goes on, it says, "But the path of the righteous is like the morning sun, shining ever brighter till the full light of day. But the way of the wicked is like deep darkness; they do not know what makes them stumble." Basically, it's saying that if you do good, then your path will be illuminated, but if you do bad, then you will stumble in the darkness.

Lois: Alright, so it's kind of like that episode of The Simpsons where Homer says, "You know, the one thing I've learned in life is that it's important to do the right thing. Sure, it might not pay off right away, but eventually, it will all work out."

Peter: Yeah, that's kind of the idea.
