Peter: Okay, so in Leviticus 5, we read about how God told the Israelites to bring a guilt offering to the Lord if they sinned or committed some kind of wrongdoing.
Lois: Oh, like if they wronged someone, they had to make it right by offering a sacrifice?
Peter: That's right, Lois. And the sacrifice had to be either a female lamb or goat or two turtle doves or young pigeons, depending on how much money they had.
Brian: Wow. That seems like a pretty strict punishment.
Stewie: Yeah, but it was a lot better than the punishment for breaking a commandment in the Ten Commandments movie. That guy got turned into a block of ice and then shattered into a million pieces!
Chris: That's pretty messed up. So, what else did God say in Leviticus 5?
Peter: Well, he also said that if someone couldn't afford to bring a sacrifice, they had to bring a tenth of an ephah of fine flour as an offering.
Lois: Interesting. So, basically, God wanted the Israelites to show that they were sorry for their wrongdoing by offering something of value as a sacrifice.
Peter: Exactly. And I think that's a lesson that we can all learn from today.
