Peter: Alright, so Leviticus 16 is all about the Day of Atonement.

Lois: Ah, so this is about God forgiving our sins?

Peter: Yeah, but it's a little bit more complicated than that. Basically, Aaron, the high priest, was supposed to offer two goats as a sacrifice and then send one into the wilderness.

Brian: That's kind of like that time on Game of Thrones when Jon Snow sent the wildlings into the North.

Peter: Sure, if you want to make a pop culture reference, go ahead. Anyway, the other goat was sacrificed. Then Aaron would take some of the blood from the sacrificed goat and sprinkle it on the Ark of the Covenant.

Lois: Wow, that's a lot of blood.

Peter: Yeah, it was a pretty gruesome ritual. And then Aaron had to burn some incense, put on special garments, and wash himself.

Stewie: So he was like a priestly version of Mr. Clean?

Peter: I guess so. Basically, it was a way of atoning for the sins of the people of Israel.

Brian: Just like when the Avengers sacrificed themselves to save the universe.
