Peter: "Hey, so we're up to Deuteronomy 33. What's it all about?"
Lois: "Well, it's a blessing from Moses to the twelve tribes of Israel before his death. He speaks highly of the tribes and their God-given gifts, and even mentions their individual patron angels."
Meg: "Oh, like the angels in the movie It's a Wonderful Life?"
Peter: "Hey, yeah, that's a great movie. And I'm sure the angels in Deuteronomy 33 are way cooler. Like, I bet they have laser beams or something."
Lois: "No, Peter, I don't think they have laser beams. But Moses does mention a lot of other cool things. He talks about how Levi, one of the tribes, is blessed with the strength of a lion, and how the other tribes are blessed with knowledge and wisdom and the ability to speak the language of God."
Brian: "So, kind of like the Force in Star Wars?"
Lois: "Umm, sure. I guess you could say that. Anyway, Moses also speaks of other things like the blessings of rest and God's protection over the tribes."
Peter: "Aww, man, that's awesome. Now I want a blessing like that."
Lois: "Well, Peter, you don't need Moses to give you a blessing. We can all speak our own blessings to each other. Just remember that we all have our own gifts and talents, and that God loves and blesses us all."
