Folks, here's the deal. Joseph had been sold into slavery by his brothers and was now living in Egypt, working for Potiphar. And see here, Jack, Potiphar put Joseph in charge of everything he owned, and the Lord blessed Joseph, so that he was very successful in everything he did. I'm not joking, the Lord was with him, and he became a great success. And, uh, you know, Potiphar’s wife took notice, and she tried to seduce Joseph, but he refused her advances. And my father used to say that when you do the right thing, it eventually comes back to you. Well, Joseph said no to Potiphar’s wife and she was so angry she had him thrown in prison. But c'mon, man, the Lord was still with Joseph in the prison, and soon he was the one in charge of the prison. Literally, he was running the show. What was that? The Lord continued to bless Joseph even in prison, and eventually Pharaoh heard about Joseph’s story and he was released from prison and put in charge of all of Egypt. Not gonna happen, I tell you what. No malarkey. See, the Lord blessed Joseph and his family and his descendants, and the Lord was with Joseph in everything he did. Excuse me, but that's the story of Genesis 39.
