Listen, Jack, my father used to say that if you wanna get from point A to point B, you'd better make sure you're in the right chapter of the Bible. Well, here's the deal: Chapter 28 of the book of Genesis is literally the chapter that'll get you there. C'mon, man! It starts off with a bang, telling us about Jacob, who was the son of Isaac and the grandson of Abraham. He was sent away from his family home because of some drama between him and his brother. So, he sets out and stops at a place called Luz on his way to his grandmother's house. Now, once he's there, he has this crazy dream of a ladder reaching all the way up to the heavens. And then he wakes up and he's like “Whoa, what was that?” Well, the Lord is in the dream and he's like, “I'm gonna give all this land and all the blessings to you and your descendants, Jacob! Not gonna happen, I tell ya.” So, Jacob wakes up and he's like, “Holy smokes!” He makes a vow to the Lord and then he goes on his way. Excuse me, but that's the end of the chapter. Just goes to show that sometimes all you need is a good dream and a promise from the Lord to make it through.
