Joe: Alright Jamie let's get this show on the road. We have a special guest here today, a Bible Expert, to give us a summary of Genesis 28. So Bible Expert, let's hear it!

Bible Expert: Absolutely Joe, Genesis 28 starts with Jacob leaving his home in Beersheba. He is headed to Haran to find a wife. On the way, he stops to rest and has a dream in which he sees a ladder reaching to Heaven with angels going up and down it. God speaks to him and promises that he will be blessed and his descendants will be like the sand of the sea.

Joe: Wow, that sounds like a pretty great blessing! So what happens next?

Bible Expert: After waking up, Jacob takes the stone he was sleeping on and sets it up as a pillar and pours oil on it as a sign of his vow to God. He then names the place Bethel and promises to give God a tenth of all he has.

Joe: That's a pretty big promise. Did he actually keep it?

Jamie: Actually Joe, I just Googled it and it looks like he did.

Joe: Wow that's great. So what else happens in the chapter?

Bible Expert: Well, Jacob continues on his journey to Haran where he meets his uncle Laban and stays with him for many years. At the end of the chapter, God appears to Jacob again and reiterates his promise to make his descendants as numerous as the sand of the sea.

Joe: That's incredible! Alright Jamie, I think that's all the time we have for today. Thanks Bible Expert for your summary of Genesis 28.
