Joe: So, tell us about Joshua 9. Bible Expert: Sure. In this chapter, Joshua and the Israelites are confronted by the Gibeonites, who are trying to make a covenant with them. The Gibeonites present themselves as being from a distant land and ask to make a treaty with the Israelites. →

Joe: Alright, so we're talking about Joshua 10. What's the deal with this chapter? Bible Expert: Well, in this chapter, Joshua leads the Israelites in a battle against five Amorite kings. The Lord gives Joshua miraculous help by prolonging the day so that he can finish the battle. →

It starts off with the Lord telling Joshua to allot the land according to the lot that was cast, and then it goes into the actual division of the land. →

Joe: So this is Joshua chapter 16, right? Bible Expert: Yes, that’s right. Joe: Alright so what’s it all about? Bible Expert: Well, in this chapter the Lord sets out the borders of the tribes of Ephraim and Manasseh. →

Joe: Alright, alright, so what have we got here? Joshua 17, what's going on in this chapter? Bible Expert: Well in Joshua 17, the Israelites are dividing up the land that God has promised them. The tribe of Manasseh gets a large portion of the land, but they are not satisfied and want more. →

Joe: Alright, so we are now discussing Joshua 18. What can you tell us about this chapter? Bible Expert: Well, Joe, Joshua 18 is all about the division of the land to the remaining seven tribes of Israel. →

Joe: Alright so, we're here to discuss Joshua 19 of the Bible. So what's going on in this chapter? Bible Expert: Well, this chapter describes the borders of the land of Israel and the cities within. It lists each of the tribes of Israel and the area they are allotted. →

Joe: Alright, so what are we talking about today? Bible Expert: We're talking about Joshua 20. Joe: Oh, cool. What's that one about? Bible Expert: Well, in Joshua 20, the Lord commands Joshua to set aside six cities of refuge, where those who have committed accidental manslaughter can flee and be safe. →

Joe: So, what's the deal with Joshua 21? Bible Expert: Well, it's all about the Levites and their portion of the Promised Land. After the Israelites conquered the land, it was divided up among the different tribes of Israel. →
