    Joe: Alright welcome to the show, we've got a special guest today. We've got a Bible expert here with us to give us a summary of Job chapter 1. Bible Expert: Thank you, Joe. In Job 1, we see God testing Job's faith.

    Joe: Alright I'm here with Bible Expert and I've got to ask, what's going on in Job 2? Bible Expert: Well, in Job 2, we see Job's friends come to visit him in his time of affliction. They sit with him for seven days and seven nights in silence, without offering any comfort or consolation.

    Joe: Alright, so Job 3! What can you tell us about this chapter? Bible Expert: Well, it's the opening chapter of the book of Job and it deals with Job's suffering and struggle. He curses the day he was born and wishes he'd never been born.

    Joe: Alright, so what've we got going on in Job 4? Bible Expert: Well, Joe, in this chapter Eliphaz the Temanite speaks to Job, trying to encourage him to repent for his sins and be restored. Eliphaz claims that those who are wicked and don’t repent will eventually feel the wrath of God and be destroyed.

    Joe: Alright, welcome back to the show. We've got an expert on the Bible with us today and we're discussing each chapter. What can you tell us about Job 5? Expert: Well, Joe, Job 5 is a chapter of the book of Job in the Old Testament.

    Joe: Alright, so Job 6. What's that about? Bible Expert: Sure, so Job 6 is all about Job's suffering and his friends' attempts to console him. He's in a lot of pain and feels abandoned by God. Joe: So is he mad at God?

    Joe: Alright, let's talk about Job 7. What's going on in this chapter? Bible Expert: Well, Job is still lamenting his condition, and he's feeling very desperate and frustrated, and he wishes God would just take his life.

    Joe: Alright, so, let's talk about Job 8. Bible Expert: Sure, in Job 8 we meet Bildad the Shuhite. He's one of Job's friends who comes to comfort him, but his words are really harsh. He is basically saying that Job is being punished for his sins, and he is trying to make Job feel guilty for what he's going through.

    Joe: Alright, so tell us about Job chapter 9! Bible Expert: Well, Job 9 is all about Job's response to Eliphaz's first speech. He essentially accuses God of being unfair and beyond his control. He recognizes that God is so powerful and wise that no one can question Him.

    Joe: Alright so tell us about Job 10. Bible Expert: Job 10 is a continuation of Job's lament to God over the suffering he endures. He questions why God is afflicting him and wonders why God is so hard to find.

  • Chapter 11

    Joe: Alright, so we've got Job 11. What's up with this chapter? Bible Expert: Well Joe, Job 11 is a very interesting chapter. The main character, Zophar, is arguing that Job is wicked and will be punished.

    Joe: Alright, we're talking bible now. What's this one about? Bible Expert: Okay, Job 12. This chapter is about Job's response to his friends. He's been dealing with all this suffering and his friends are trying to tell him it's his fault, but he's not convinced.

    Joe: Alright, so what do you got for Job 13? Bible Expert: Well Joe, in Job 13 the book of Job continues as Job continues to plead his case before God. He argues that God should not be so harsh on him for his suffering and insists that he has done nothing to deserve it.

  • Chapter 14

    Joe: Alright, so, Job 14. What’s going on in this chapter? Bible Expert: Well Joe, Job is continuing to lament his suffering and he’s expressing his belief that even if he were in the grave, he would still hope for restoration from God.

  • Chapter 15

    Joe: Alright, so, Job 15. What's the deal? Bible Expert: Well, Joe, this chapter is a continuation of the dialogue between Job and his friends. Job's friend Eliphaz insists that Job's suffering is because of his sin, and he goes on to list the various ways that sin brings punishment upon a person.

    Joe: Alright, so we're talking about Job 16, what's going on in this chapter? Bible Expert: Well Joe, Job is continuing to express his pain and grief in this chapter. He complains to his friends of the injustice of his suffering and laments his condition.

    Joe: Alright, so what is the Bible chapter we're talking about today? Expert: We're talking about Job 17. Joe: Oh wow, this sounds like a doozy. What's it all about? Expert: Well, Job is having a pretty rough time in this chapter.

    Joe: Alright, so what's happening in Job 18? Bible Expert: Job 18 centers around Bildad, one of Job's friends, who speaks up and tries to explain to Job why he has been suffering. Joe: Ok, so what's Bildad's explanation?

    Joe: Alright, so Job 19. What's that one all about? Bible Expert: Well, Job 19 focuses on Job's response to his friends who have been criticizing him. He's angry and frustrated and he's basically telling them that God is the only one who can give him justice.

  • Chapter 20

    Joe: So, tell us about Job 20. Bible Expert: In this chapter, Job's friend Zophar speaks and argues that the wicked will not prosper forever. He insists that the wicked will eventually be punished for their evil deeds and will receive what they deserve.

    Joe: Alright, so what have we got this time? Bible Expert: This is Job chapter 21. Joe: What's it about? Bible Expert: In this chapter Job is responding to his friends Eliphaz, Bildad, and Zophar who had been telling him all sorts of stuff about why he is suffering.

    Joe: Alright, so what do you make of Job 22? Bible Expert: Well, it's a chapter that speaks of Eliphaz the Temanite's response to Job's anguish. He is telling Job that it is his own fault that he is suffering, and that if he repents and returns to God, God will restore him to his former glory.

    Joe: Alright folks, so we've got a special guest here to talk about Job 23. Give us a quick overview of what this chapter is about. Bible Expert: Sure Joe, Job 23 is all about Job's struggle with his faith.

    Joe: Alright so let's talk about Job 24! What's happening in this chapter? Bible Expert: In this chapter, God speaks to Job and explains why people suffer and why the wicked seem to go unpunished. He points out that the wicked are not able to hide from God and will eventually be judged.

    Joe: Alright, so what have we got here? Job 25. Bible Expert: Right, Job 25. This chapter starts with Bildad the Shuhite sharing his thoughts on the matter of why people suffer. He believes that human suffering is a result of human sin.

    Joe: Alright, so what’s up with Job 26? Bible Expert: Well, Job 26 is a chapter in which Job defends himself against the accusations of his friends. He claims that God is the one who has the power to make and break nations, to spread out the heavens, to rule over the sea, and to bring death and destruction upon the wicked.

    Joe: Alright, welcome back! We’ve got Bible Expert on the show to talk about the Book of Job. So Bible Expert, let’s hear about Job 27. Bible Expert: Right! So in this chapter, Job is continuing to defend his integrity against his friends’ accusations.

    Joe: Alright, so, we just finished talking about Job 27. What can you tell me about chapter 28? Bible Expert: Well, Job 28 is all about wisdom. Job talks about how wisdom is too wonderful for him to understand and that it can only be found by searching for it.

    Joe: Alright, so what can you tell me about Job 29? Bible Expert: Job 29 is a continuation of Job's lament. He speaks of his past life, when he was prosperous and held in high esteem by his community. He describes his care for the poor and needy, and his justice in settling disputes.

    Joe: Alright, so what’s next? Bible Expert: Job 30. Joe: Okay, so what’s goin’ on in Job 30? Bible Expert: Well, Job is complaining about the miserable state he’s in, and he’s blaming God for it. He’s saying that God has made his life miserable, and that he’s lost everything he had.

    Joe: Alright, so we're talking about Job chapter 31. What do we got? Bible Expert: Well, this is the conclusion of Job's speech. He's basically making a covenant with God. He's saying that he has been blameless and upright, and if he has done any wrong, he takes full responsibility.

    Joe: All right, so we've got Job 32. What's it all about? Bible Expert: Well, Job 32 records the speech of Elihu, a young man who felt compelled to speak after Job and his three friends had exhausted their arguments.

    Joe: Alright, so I'm here with the Bible expert and we're talking about the book of Job. What's the deal with chapter 33? Bible Expert: Sure, well in Job 33, Elihu is continuing his discourse. He tells Job that God does communicate with people and that he speaks in dreams and visions.

    Joe: Alright, so let's talk about Job 34. What's this chapter all about? Bible Expert: Well, Job 34 is a rhetorical poem in which Elihu, the son of Barachel the Buzite, speaks to Job and his three friends.

    Joe: Alright, so let's get into it! What can you tell us about Job 35? Bible Expert: Job 35 is all about God's response to Job's complaints. God basically explains that Job's suffering is not due to any injustice on God's part, but rather because of Job's own limited understanding of God's power and authority.

    Joe: Alright, so Job 36. What’s going on there? Bible Expert: Well, Job's friend Elihu is still going on and on in this chapter, trying to convince Job that God is in control of everything. He reminds Job of God’s power and emphasizes that God is just and merciful.

    Joe: Alright, so what's this Job 37 all about? Bible Expert: Well Joe, Job 37 is all about God's power in nature. God is described as speaking through the thunder and wind, and He is depicted as being more powerful than any human being.

    Joe: Alright, so we're gonna talk about Job 38. What the heck is going on here? Bible Expert: Well, Job 38 is a chapter full of God's speech to Job. In it, God challenges Job to explain the workings of the universe.

    Joe: Alright, so we're on Job 39. What can you tell us about this chapter? Expert: Well, in this chapter, God is continuing to question Job about his understanding of the world around him. He's asking if Job can comprehend the behavior of the animals he sees.

    Joe: Alright, so what’s this one about? Bible Expert: So this is Job 40. It’s God’s response to Job after Job had been complaining about his sufferings. God is trying to show Job that He is too powerful and wise for Job to understand.

    Joe: Alright, so we're talking about Job 41! What's the deal with this chapter? Bible Expert: So this chapter is about the Leviathan, an incredibly powerful creature that is described as being incredibly fierce and strong.

    Joe: Alright so Job 42, what do we got? Bible Expert: Well, in this chapter Job has a conversation with the Lord. God acknowledges that Job spoke the truth and that he was humble and faithful. Joe: That's amazing! So what else happens?
