Joe: Alright, so what have we got this time?

Bible Expert: This is Job chapter 21.

Joe: What's it about?

Bible Expert: In this chapter Job is responding to his friends Eliphaz, Bildad, and Zophar who had been telling him all sorts of stuff about why he is suffering. He says that the wicked always seem to prosper and that the righteous often suffer without cause.

Joe: That doesn't sound right. Jamie, look it up and see if that's true.

Jamie: Yeah, it does seem to be true according to Google.

Joe: Wow, that's crazy!

Bible Expert: Yeah, it is. Job is saying that even though the wicked prosper, he still trusts in God and believes that the power of God is ultimately just and that the wicked will eventually be punished.

Joe: Alright, so what else?

Bible Expert: Job is also saying that the righteous will receive their reward in the afterlife and that ultimately, God will be the one to judge and reward accordingly.

Joe: That's kind of comforting, isn't it?

Bible Expert: Yes, it is. Job goes on to say that the wicked will suffer in the afterlife and that the righteous will be rewarded.

Joe: That's pretty cool. So, what's the takeaway here?

Bible Expert: The takeaway is that justice will eventually be served and that God will be the one to judge. Even though the wicked may seem to prosper now, their reward will come in the afterlife. The righteous will also be rewarded in the afterlife, so we should trust in God and have faith in His justice.
