• Chapter 1

    Listen up, maggots! Job 1 is about this guy named Job. He's a righteous God-fearin' fella who's got a big ol' family, a bunch of livestock, and a ton of servants and wealth. One day God and Satan have a chat and decide to test ol' Job.

  • Chapter 2

    Listen up, newbies! Job 2 is about this guy, Job, that God puts to the test. He's a righteous man and God allows Satan to test him. Satan takes away Job's kids and possessions, and Job is so mad he wishes he had never been born.

  • Chapter 3

    "Job 3! Here's the deal. Job has just cursed the day he was born and is generally in a bad mood. He's mad at God for all the bad stuff that's happened to him. He's wishing he had never been born and complaining about how hard life has been.

  • Chapter 4

    Cadets, listen up! Job 4: We got Eliphaz here, he's one of Job's friends. He's trying to tell Job that, like, you gotta accept God's will, no matter what it is. He's telling Job that if it wasn't for God, he'd already be dead.

  • Chapter 5

    Listen up, maggots! Job 5: God is the one who punishes the wicked and rewards the righteous. He can bring down those who are proud and mighty, and he can lift up the humble and lowly. He can bring about peace in your life and take away your pain.

  • Chapter 6

    "Job 6: Listen up recruits! This chapter talks about Job's anguish and how he's in a lot of pain. He says that even if he pleads to God he won't be heard and that his strength has failed. He says that he still loves God even though he's been afflicted.

  • Chapter 7

    Job 7: Hey, you maggots, listen up! Job here is feeling a little bit sorry for himself. He's telling God he needs a break from this tough life he's been living. He's asking Him to remember he's only human and let him have a break.

  • Chapter 8

    Job 8: Job's friend Bildad speaks. He tells Job that his suffering is due to his sins and that God will restore him if he repents. Bildad claims that those who follow God will prosper and be blessed, while those who turn away from Him will suffer.

  • Chapter 9

    Job 9: Yo maggots! Pay attention! Job's still talking here. He's saying that even if he was right and innocent, he'd still have no chance against God. He's saying that God is so powerful, even if Job tried to argue his case, he'd still be found guilty! He's saying that God's greatness is so vast, there's no way to even begin to measure it.

  • Chapter 10

    Listen up, recruits! Job 10: God's still talking to Job, and he's not happy. Job's trying to defend himself, but God's not buying it. He's asking Job why he was even born. God's pretty much saying that Job is nothing more than a clay pot in God's hands.

  • Chapter 11

    Listen up, you maggots! Job 11: God's gonna give you a peep into the future if you take a look at the Almighty, who's way smarter than any of us. He's got so much knowledge that it's endless, so don't think you can outsmart him.

  • Chapter 12

    "Listen up, new recruits! Chapter 12 of Job is about God's power and wisdom. Job laments that he is surrounded by people who are too stupid to understand what's going on. He argues that God is the source of power and wisdom, and that only those who are wise can understand the secrets of God.

  • Chapter 13

    "LISTEN UP MAGGOTS! THIS IS JOB 13! JOB IS PISSED! HE'S NOT HAPPY WITH THE WAY GOD IS TREATING HIM, AND HE'S NOT AFRAID TO SAY SO! HE'S GOING TO STAND UP FOR HIMSELF AND CHALLENGE GOD TO A DEBATE! HE'S GOING TO TELL GOD EXACTLY HOW HE FEELS, AND HE'S GONNA DO IT WITH ALL THE FIERY RAGE OF A MARINE! YOU BETTER LISTEN UP, BECAUSE THIS CHAPTER IS FULL OF ACTION!

  • Chapter 14

    Job 14: Job talks about how brief man's life is, how frail he is, and how he can't wait for his days on Earth to be over. He laments that he can't control his destiny and that his days are numbered. He wishes for God to forgive his sins and give him peace in death.

  • Chapter 15

    Job 15: Listen up, new recruits! This chapter is about Eliphaz the Temanite, who's trying to give Job some advice about his suffering. He's telling him that the wicked suffer more than the righteous, so Job should accept his punishment and be humble.

  • Chapter 16

    "You listen up, maggots! Job 16 is when Job's friends all start accusing him of being an evil sinner who deserves all the suffering he got. They even tell him he should curse God for allowing his suffering.

  • Chapter 17

    Listen up, soldiers! Job 17 is all about Job lamenting his fate. He's angry, and he wants God to show him why he's suffering so much. He's surrounded by mockers and critics and his friends can't help him.

  • Chapter 18

    Job 18: Here's the deal: Bildad is back with a speech full of questions and accusations, but don't be fooled--he's basically just trying to prove that Job is evil and deserves punishment. He basically says that Job's life is going to be full of suffering and misery no matter what he does.

  • Chapter 19

    "Job 19! Listen up, soldiers! Job has been through some tough times, and now he's just plain mad! He's asking God why He's done all this to him. He's asking, 'Why do you treat me so cruelly?' He says that his friends are all talking against him, and no one is standing up for him.

  • Chapter 20

    "The Story of Job, Chapter 20: Get a Load of This! This is Zophar's second speech to Job. He says Job's wickedness will bring him trouble, and he will suffer pain because of all the evil he has done. He says that Job will be consumed by his own anger, and whatever he has collected will be taken away.

  • Chapter 21

    Job 21: You rookies listen up! This chapter is all about Job's friends. They're giving him a hard time and trying to tell him that he's wrong and getting what he deserves for his sins. But Job's not having any of it! He says that the wicked can be prosperous, and that their punishment is often delayed.

  • Chapter 22

    Job 22: "Ya buncha maggots! Listen up! In this chapter, Eliphaz, Bildad, and Zophar are all trying to convince Job that he's wrong and that he should repent for his sins. They tell him that if he repents, then he'll be rewarded with riches.

  • Chapter 23

    "Job 23! Listen up, recruits! In this chapter, Job is complaining about God's justice. He's asking why God won't show up and clear his name, and why he can't find Him so he can plead his case. Job's friends are still giving him advice, but he's not listening.

  • Chapter 24

    Listen up, recruits! Job chapter 24 is about the wicked and their treatment. God doesn't ignore what wicked people do. He'll punish them for their sins and their evil deeds. They'll pay for their wrongdoing and their actions will be judged.

  • Chapter 25

    "Job 25! Listen up, soldiers! We got Bildad the Shuhite givin' us the lowdown on how God is too high and mighty for us to understand. He's tellin' us that even monsters ain't got nothin' on God's greatness.

  • Chapter 26

    All right, listen up! This is Job 26. In this chapter, Job is continuing his discourse and he's giving God credit for controlling the environment and the weather. He talks about how God spreads out the northern skies over empty space, how He makes clouds His chariot, and how He walks on the wings of the wind.

  • Chapter 27

    Listen up, ya maggots! Chapter 27 of the Bible is about Job, a righteous man who has suffered greatly. The Lord has allowed Satan to test Job's faith, and he hasn't given up hope. In this chapter, Job speaks his mind and declares his innocence.

  • Chapter 28

    LISTEN UP, MAGGOTS! Job 28: Humans may search for it, but they'll NEVER find it. Wisdom. It's not in the depths of the ocean, it's not something you can buy. You can't find it with money. It's not in the land of the dead.

  • Chapter 29

    Listen up, recruits! Job 29 is all about Job's recollection of his former life before his trials. He remembers how he once was, respected and revered by all. He had a good name, and was loved and respected by all.

  • Chapter 30

    Job 30: "Alright, you maggots! Job's misery gets even worse as he is now surrounded by people even less fortunate than he is. They mock him and even throw stones his way. It's pretty sad, really. He's so desperate he wishes he had never been born.

  • Chapter 31

    Listen up recruits! This is Job 31. Job is telling us that he's kept a tight leash on himself his whole life when it comes to dealing with women and other people, and he's never done anything to them that would be considered wrong or immoral.

  • Chapter 32

    Listen up, maggots! This is Job 32! Elihu, a guy Job's age, got all worked up and started blabberin' about how Job and his buddies were wrong. He said that wisdom doesn't come from age, but from the Lord.

  • Chapter 33

    "JOB 33! LISTEN UP, SOLDIERS! ELIHU IS BACK AND HE'S GOT SOMETHIN' TO SAY! HE'S GONNA TELL JOB ABOUT GOD'S WISDOM, AND HOW GOD MIGHT BE REACHIN' OUT TO HIM. ELIHU IS TELLIN' JOB THAT GOD IS REACHIN' OUT TO HIM, SENDIN' HIM A DREAM OR A VISION TO WARN HIM.

  • Chapter 34

    Hey, listen up! Job 34 is all about God's justice. Elihu is talkin' about how God is always fair, no matter what the situation. He's basically sayin' that God treats everyone the same, even if a person's rich or poor, powerful or weak.

  • Chapter 35

    Job 35: God is telling Job that his complaints don't mean a thing! He says that God is greater and more powerful than Job could ever imagine. He says that God is so great that Job can't even comprehend the extent of His greatness.

  • Chapter 36

    Listen up, newbies! In Job 36, Elihu is still talking to Job, and he's trying to show Job that God is fair and just. Elihu says that God is powerful and He punishes those who do wrong, but He also rewards those who are faithful to Him.

  • Chapter 37

    JOB 37: Get ready to listen, you maggots! This chapter talks about the thunder of God. God's voice is powerful and majestic and it flashes with light. He has the power to do all sorts of miracles, and nothing is too difficult for Him.

  • Chapter 38

    Listen up, maggots! Job 38 is gonna make you squirm! God's gonna ask Job a bunch of questions to show Job how little he knows. God's gonna ask him about the formation of the Earth and the stars, about the rain and the clouds, about the sea, about the light and the dark, about the animals, and about how Job has no clue what's going on.

  • Chapter 39

    Job 39: Alright, listen up! In this chapter, we learn about how God created animals and gave them their strength. He created animals like the wild donkey, the wild ox, and the hawk, and He tells us that they don't need us to take care of them.

  • Chapter 40

    Listen up, new recruits! Chapter 40 of Job is all about the LORD showing Job, AND the rest of us, just how powerful He is. He appears to Job, out of nowhere, and asks Job a bunch of questions that Job can't answer.

  • Chapter 41

    ATTENTION MAGGOTS! Job 41 is about a giant sea monster called Leviathan. It's so huge that it can't be tamed, so don't even think about trying. It's got scales as tough as armor and sharp teeth that can cut through anything.

  • Chapter 42

    "Job 42! Listen up, maggots! Job was not the same after his trials, but God blessed him with twice as much of everything he had before. He had a bunch of new kids, and he lived a long and prosperous life.
