    Alright you maggots! Listen up! This is the book of Ezra, chapter one. Cyrus, the king of Persia, had a dream from God. The dream said to let the Jews go back to Jerusalem, so Cyrus let them go. He even gave them money to use for the journey and for rebuilding the temple in Jerusalem.

  • Chapter 2

    EZRA 2: LISTEN UP, RECRUITS! THIS CHAPTER TELLS US ABOUT THE ISRAELITES WHO CAME BACK FROM EXILE IN BABYLON TO JERUSALEM. WE'RE TALKING ABOUT A GROUP OF 42,360 PEOPLE. THEY WERE LED BY A GUY CALLED EZRA.

  • Chapter 3

    Listen up! This is Ezra 3! We got the people of Israel coming back to Jerusalem after a long exile. They brought sacrifices and offerings to the new temple they built, and they did it with singing, shouting, and the sound of trumpets! Then, the priests and Levites stood up and blessed the people.

  • Chapter 4

    Listen up, maggots! Ezra 4 is all about your enemies givin' you grief! Yer enemies are tryin' to stop you from rebuildin' Jerusalem, so they write letters to the king and badmouth the Jews. But Artaxerxes ain't havin' it, so he sends a letter back to your enemies and tells 'em to back off.

  • Chapter 5

    Ezra 5: Get your butts in gear, maggots! A couple of prophets—Haggai and Zechariah—came to Zerubbabel and Joshua the high priest, telling them to get to work rebuilding the temple. They got to work right away, and their work was approved by the Persian king.

  • Chapter 6

    ATTENTION SOLDIERS! This is your summary of Ezra 6! King Darius gave permission to the people of Israel to rebuild the temple in Jerusalem. He even provided the funds and materials for the project. The leaders of the people of Israel got to work and the temple was built in only six months! They celebrated the completion of the temple with a big feast and showed everyone how dedicated they were to the Lord.

  • Chapter 7

    Listen up, maggots! This is Ezra 7. Ezra is a priest, and Artaxerxes the king of Persia gives him permission to go back to Jerusalem with a letter commanding the people to help rebuild the temple. Ezra gathers up some of the leaders and they travel to Jerusalem.

  • Chapter 8

    "Listen up, Maggots! This is Ezra 8. This chapter is all about Ezra leading a huge caravan of people from Babylon back to Jerusalem. That's right, he's organizing a huge group of people and leading them across the desert.

  • Chapter 9

    Listen up, Soldiers! This is Ezra 9! It starts off with the people of Israel getting called out for disobeying God’s commands and setting up alliances with other nations. Ezra, who is a priest, is devastated by this.

  • Chapter 10

    LISTEN UP, RECRUITS! Ezra 10 is about the people of Israel repenting for their sins. The people gathered together and confessed their sins before the Lord. They had been living in sin and needed to repent.
