Joe: Alright, so Genesis 9, sounds like some pretty serious stuff. What’s it about?

Bible Expert: Well, Joe, this is where God reiterates the covenant He made with Noah and his sons after they left the ark.

Joe: Oh wow, that’s right. I remember Jamie (Joe’s sidekick) Googled the whole ark story to see if it was true.

Jamie: Yep, it was true.

Joe: Incredible. So, what did He promise them?

Bible Expert: He promised them never to send another flood that would destroy all life on earth. He also gave them permission to eat all kinds of animals, birds, and sea creatures as food.

Joe: So, kind of like a permission slip to start hunting then?

Bible Expert: Right. God also established a rainbow as a sign of the covenant and a reminder to Him that He would never destroy the world again.

Joe: That’s cool. Anything else?

Bible Expert: God also cursed the ground and said it would produce thorns and thistles, and that humans would have to work hard to get food from the ground. Finally, God told Noah and his sons to be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth with people.
