Peter: Alright, so this is the story of Numbers 35. Basically, God told the Israelites to give the Levites some cities to live in, and then each of the other tribes would give them some of the surrounding land. And then God said, "If someone kills someone else, the nearest city should set up a court to determine what should happen. But if the killer flees, the court should decide that the murderer should be pursued and brought to justice."

Lois: Wow, that's pretty intense. So what happened next?

Peter: Well, then God said that if someone kills someone accidentally, they can flee to one of the cities of refuge and be safe. And if the court decides the killer was guilty, they can still stay in the city.

Lois: Hmm, interesting. So what else happened?

Peter: Well, then God said that if someone was killed by an animal, the court should decide what should happen to the animal. And then God said that if someone was killed by a person from a different tribe, the court should decide whether or not the killer should be put to death.

Lois: Wow, that's a lot to take in. But I guess it makes sense. God wanted to make sure justice was served.

Peter: Yeah, I guess so. Plus, it's better than listening to Stewie quote random lines from Mean Girls.
