Peter: Alright, so in Exodus 24, Moses and the elders of Israel went up to meet God on Mount Sinai and God told Moses to bring the people an offering.

Stewie: So, what did they bring? The latest season of Game of Thrones?

Peter: Nope, it was a burnt offering, a calf, a ram, and some unleavened bread. God told Moses to come up the mountain alone and then Moses wrote down all the words of the covenant that God said.

Lois: Wow, sounds like a lot of work!

Brian: Yeah, and then God told Moses to build an altar and offer sacrifices. He also told him to sprinkle the blood of the sacrifice on the altar and on the people as a sign of the covenant.

Stewie: Ugh, gross!

Peter: Yeah, but then God said that if the people followed his commandments, he would be their God and they would be his people.

Lois: Sounds like a fair deal.

Brian: Yeah, and then Moses and the people agreed to keep the covenant and God said he would put his presence among them.

Stewie: So, did God give them a copy of his new Netflix show?

Peter: Nope, he just said that he would speak to Moses face to face and he would give him the Ten Commandments.

Lois: That’s pretty cool!

Brian: Yeah, and then they all went back down the mountain and Moses wrote down all the words of the covenant that God said.

Stewie: So, what happened to the Game of Thrones offering?

Peter: Ummm, I don't think that was part of this chapter.
