Well, folks, in Genesis 37, we meet Jacob's favorite son, Joseph. He's the one with the fancy coat, and his father's favorite. So naturally, his brothers are jealous and decide to throw him in a pit, then sell him off to some traders from Midian. But don't worry, he's eventually sold off to Potiphar and becomes a trusted servant, even though he's accused of wrongdoing. All's well that ends well, though, as Joseph is eventually freed from prison and rises to power in Egypt, helping save his family from a famine. Moral of the story: money talks and nepotism matters.
