• Chapter 1

    Hey, folks! It's me, Norm Macdonald, here with the latest from the Bible. This week, we're checking out the first chapter of 1 Corinthians. It starts off with Paul introducing himself to the Corinthians.

  • Chapter 2

    Well, folks, it's been a wild ride in 1 Corinthians 2. In this chapter, Paul lays out the basics of Christian wisdom, which is, of course, different than the wisdom of the world. He says that it's only through the Spirit of God that we can understand the things of God.

  • Chapter 3

    Well, here we are again in the Book of Corinthians, folks. And it's a wild ride, I'm tellin' ya. In Chapter 3, Paul is all about getting the Church of Corinth to get their act together. He's like, "Hey, don't be so immature and divided, okay? That's real grown-up stuff.

  • Chapter 4

    Hey there, Bible fans! In 1 Corinthians 4, the Apostle Paul really lays into the Corinthians and their pride. He calls them “foolish” and says they think too highly of themselves, and he’s not wrong. He then tells them that judgment belongs to God, and that they should just be humble and faithful.

  • Chapter 5

    Well, folks, in 1 Corinthians 5, Paul is telling the church to kick out the immoral brother who's living among them. He says that this is a good way to show their disgust for his behavior and keep it from spreading.

  • Chapter 6

    So, in 1 Corinthians 6, the Apostle Paul is trying to get the Corinthians to stop suing each other in court, which is pretty wise advice. He argues that they should be able to settle disputes among themselves, because they are part of the same community.

  • Chapter 7

    Well, folks, it looks like we've got a real wild one here in 1 Corinthians 7! The church in Corinth is having some issues with marriage, so Paul has to step in and offer his two cents. He says that marriage is a good thing, but it's up to individuals to decide whether or not they want to get married.

  • Chapter 8

    Well, folks, it's time to check in with the book of 1 Corinthians. Chapter 8 is all about meat. No, literally. It's about whether it's okay to eat food offered to idols. Some of the Corinthians were all for it, but Paul said, "Hey, be careful: not everybody knows about God and how awesome He is, so go easy on 'em.

  • Chapter 9

    Hey, so Paul wrote 1 Corinthians 9, and it's all about how he never takes money from the people he preaches to, even though he totally has a right to do so. He says it's not about making money, it's about spreading the gospel and the message of love.

  • Chapter 10

    Hey, it's me, Norm MacDonald, here to give you the rundown of 1 Corinthians 10. So, Paul's goin' on about how the Israelites, who were led out of Egypt by Moses, were punished by God because they kept worshiping idols and eating meat sacrificed to idols and such.

  • Chapter 11

    Well, folks, it looks like 1 Corinthians 11 is all about head coverings. And it's a real doozy. First, Paul tells the Corinthians that they should all follow his example, because he follows the example of Christ.

  • Chapter 12

    Well, if you thought chapter 11 was bad, buckle up for chapter 12, folks. It's all about spiritual gifts, and how God gives us all different ones. And if you don't have the same gift as someone else, don't worry about it - we're all in this together! But, it does get kind of confusing, because there's all these different gifts, like prophecy and healing and speaking in tongues.

  • Chapter 13

    Uh, awwwwwwwww yeah, 1 Corinthians 13, or as I like to call it, "the love chapter." Yeah, sure, you've probably heard of it. It goes something like, "Love is patient and kind, it does not envy or boast, etc.

  • Chapter 14

    Well, it looks like the Apostle Paul has some opinions on church services. In 1 Corinthians 14, he argues that speaking in tongues is all well and good, but it's not really useful if there's no one there to interpret it.

  • Chapter 15

    Well, the folks in Corinth have been talking about the Resurrection, and Paul's here to set 'em straight. He says, "Hey, if there's no resurrection, then we have nothing to look forward to, and we might as well just eat, drink, and be merry.

  • Chapter 16

    Hey, check it out, this is 1 Corinthians 16. So, Paul's like, writing a letter to the church in Corinth, telling them to give money to the church in Jerusalem. He also tells them to be on the lookout for false prophets and not to be messed with.
