    Well, folks, it's time to break down what happened in 2 Kings 1. We have a guy named Ahaziah who gets injured in a fall from his roof. So, naturally, he sends messengers to inquire of the god Baal-zebub.

    Alright, folks. This week in the Bible we’re talkin’ about 2 Kings 2. Here’s the scoop. We got Elijah the prophet and his buddy Elisha and they’re about to part ways. Elijah is about to be taken up to heaven, but not before he and Elisha part ways.

    Welcome to Weekend Update! It's been a wild ride through the Old Testament, but here we are in 2 Kings 4. We've got a prophetess, a widow, a Shunammite, a wild gourd, and Elisha. What could possibly go wrong? Well, the widow has no money and her two sons are about to be sold into slavery.

    Well, folks, it's time for a Bible Update! This week, we're checking out 2 Kings 5. This chapter starts off with a bang, introducing us to Naaman, a Syrian army commander who happens to have leprosy. His wife's servant suggests he visit the prophet Elisha, and he does so.

    Okay, so this week on Weekend Update, we're talking about a real page-turner from the Bible: 2 Kings 6. Apparently, the prophet Elisha is chillin' with some of his boys and they're hanging out in a city that's surrounded by the Arameans.

    Well, folks, this week on 2 Kings we got the story of the four lepers who were outside the city gate of Samaria during a famine. They were starving and desperate, so they decided to just go to the camp of the Syrians and hope for the best.

    Hey, this is Norm MacDonald for Weekend Update. This week we're gonna take a look at 2 Kings 8. In this chapter, Elisha tells the wife of a soldier that she and her husband will soon have a son. Sure enough, the woman has a son nine months later.

    "Well, folks, the story in 2 Kings 9 is one we've heard before. A good guy gets chosen to do something big, but then all kinds of crazy stuff happens. This time, it's Jehu, anointed by one of the Lord's prophets to be king of Israel.

    "Well, it's been a wild ride in 2 Kings 10, folks. To sum it up, in the northern kingdom of Israel, a bunch of bad guys are running around killing each other, and the good guys are trying to stop them. It's like a real-life Game of Thrones, and the people of Judah are pretty much just like, 'Oh, wow, okay, sure.

  • Chapter 11

    Okay, okay, so let's get into it. 2 Kings 11 is all about a lady named Athaliah. She was the daughter of King Ahab and she took over the kingdom after her son, King Ahaziah, died. She was a real powerhouse, trying to wipe out the royal family and take the throne for herself.

    Well, folks, things are getting wild in 2 Kings 12. We've got King Jehoash of Judah taking on the temple of the Lord, and you know what that means: time to renovate! Jehoash takes the money from the temple and invests it in repairs, but there's a catch: it's not his money! Turns out, the king's got a little problem with theft, but hey, at least he's getting the temple fixed up.

    Hey, what's up everybody? This is Norm MacDonald and this is your Weekend Update on the good book. In 2 Kings 13, we've got a real doozy. So get ready for a wild ride. So Joash, the king of Israel, is sick and on his deathbed.

  • Chapter 14

    Well, this week we’re checking in with a real blast from the past: 2 Kings 14. We meet up with King Amaziah of Jerusalem, who’s just finished a successful campaign against the Edomites. He celebrates his victory by, wait for it… killing all the Edomites’ priests! But then God sends a prophet to tell Amaziah that it’s not cool to kill priests, so Amaziah calls off the executions.

  • Chapter 15

    Well, folks, 2 Kings 15 is about a King of Israel, called Azariah, who was doing alright, ya know? He was a good king and he followed the Lord, so everyone was pretty happy with him. But then things started to go south.

  • Chapter 16

    Well, folks, 2 Kings 16 is the one you've been waiting for, and boy oh boy, it's a doozy. We've got a real king in this one: Ahaz, son of Jotham. So what's he been up to? Well, he ain't no saint, that's for sure! He does some pretty wicked things, such as sacrificing his son to a false god and even worse- he sets up a false altar in the Temple of God! But, hey, it doesn't end there.

  • Chapter 17

    Well folks, this week in 2 Kings 17, we got a real wild ride. Apparently, God was not happy with the people of Israel and Judah so he decided to punish them by exiling them to Assyria. But that's not all! He also made them forget their own language and forced them to adopt the Assyrian language and customs.

  • Chapter 18

    Good evening, I'm Norm MacDonald here with your summary of 2 Kings 18. So, it all starts with King Hezekiah in Judah, who does what any good king does – he follows the Lord and gets rid of all the idols in the land.

  • Chapter 19

    Well, folks, another week, another Book of Kings. This week, we head over to 2 Kings 19. Now, I'm no theologian, but if I'm understanding this chapter correctly, here's what happened: God told King Hezekiah of Judah that the Assyrian King Sennacherib was coming to destroy Jerusalem.

  • Chapter 20

    Alright, so here we go with 2 Kings 20. King Hezekiah of Judah is seriously ill, and the prophet Isaiah tells him he's gonna die. But then Hezekiah prays and God decides to grant him 15 more years. Later, the King is visited by envoys from Babylon.

  • Chapter 21

    Well, folks, it looks like our old pal King Manasseh is at it again in 2 Kings 21. We've been hearing reports of him doing some terrible things, like sacrificing his son and worshiping other gods. So when Yahweh finally had enough, He sent the prophet Isaiah to deliver a message: Manasseh's gonna get his comeuppance.

  • Chapter 22

    Well folks, it's time to check in on the Book of 2 Kings - and it looks like things are really getting interesting! In Chapter 22, we're taken to Jerusalem and the reign of King Josiah. After a bunch of renovations to the temple, the king's aides uncover a scroll of the Law.

  • Chapter 23

    Hey, folks, it's Norm MacDonald here with the summary for 2 Kings 23. So, Josiah, the King of Judah, found a book of the Law of the Lord in the temple and had it read aloud. He was so moved by it that he declared a covenant to follow the Lord and got rid of all the idols and high places in the land.

    Well, it’s been a wild ride for our friends in 2 Kings 24. It all started with King Jehoiakim, who became a vassal of the King of Babylon. But that didn’t last long, because after three years, the Babylonians took him away.

  • Chapter 25

    Well, folks, we've got a real wild one for ya here. In 2 Kings, chapter 25, we've got King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon coming in and taking over Jerusalem. Then he takes the king of Judah, King Zedekiah, and his family and some of the nobles, and he takes them to Babylon.
