Well, folks, it's time for a Bible Update! This week, we're checking out 2 Kings 5. This chapter starts off with a bang, introducing us to Naaman, a Syrian army commander who happens to have leprosy. His wife's servant suggests he visit the prophet Elisha, and he does so. Elisha sends a messenger to tell him to bathe seven times in the Jordan River, and the leprosy is cured! Naaman is so grateful that he offers Elisha a reward, but Elisha turns it down, saying he only wants God to be glorified. And that's not all! Later in the chapter, a Shunammite woman gives Elisha a room to stay in whenever he's in town, and in return, Elisha helps her conceive a son. Talk about a miracle! But wait, there's more! Naaman goes back to Elisha with some Israelite soil, so that he can offer sacrifices to the Lord in Israel. And that's what we've got for this week's Bible Update. Tune in next time for another riveting story from the Good Book!
