Peter: Alright everyone, let's get started on 2 Chronicles 24. It starts off with Joash becoming king of Judah at the age of seven. He followed the Lord's commands and did what was right in the eyes of the Lord.

Lois: That sounds like a good start.

Meg: Yeah, it's like when I was seven and started following the Lord's commands by not playing Fortnite all day.

Brian: That's one way to look at it.

Peter: Anyway, Joash got some priests and Levites to help him and they repaired the temple. But then Joash decided to stop following the Lord's commands and he stopped paying the Levites. People started worshipping idols, so the Lord sent prophets to remind everyone to obey him but they weren't listened to.

Lois: Wow, that sounds really disobedient.

Meg: Yeah, like when I tried to stay out late one time and my parents didn't listen.

Brian: That's one way to look at it.

Peter: So then the Arameans attacked Judah and stole all their stuff. Joash got really mad and had all the priests and Levites killed. But then the people got mad at Joash for killing the priests and Levites and they killed him.

Lois: That's terrible.

Meg: Yeah, it's like when I tried to stay out late one time and my parents got mad at me and grounded me.

Brian: That's one way to look at it.
