Peter: Alright, so 2 Chronicles 34 is all about this King Josiah, who was only like 8 years old when he took the throne. He was a righteous dude, and sought the Lord all the days of his life, so he was pretty righteous.
Lois: That's cool, but what happens in the chapter?
Peter: Well, the high priest Hilkiah finds a book of the law in the Lord's House and brings it to King Josiah. When Josiah hears the Law, he tears his clothes in grief and sends people to ask the Lord's advice.
Brian: Wait, what kind of law was it?
Peter: Oh, the usual laws about religious ceremonies and stuff. Anyway, the Lord tells the people to follow the Law, so Josiah does. He makes the people of Judah renew their covenant with the Lord and destroys their idols. He also celebrates Passover and all the other religious ceremonies like the Lord commanded.
Joe: Wow, sounds like a lot of work!
Peter: Yeah, it was. But Josiah was so dedicated to following the Lord's Law, he even found a way to restore the temple and all its furnishings. He even fixed the finances so that the temple would have enough money to keep going.
Cleveland: So, what did he do after that?
Peter: Well, then he dies, but not before getting some recognition from the Lord. The Lord said that Josiah was the only king who was as righteous as David.
Quagmire: Wow, that's pretty impressive.
Peter: Yeah, it sure is!
