Well, it's been a wild ride, folks. This week, we've got Psalms 47. It's a real rollercoaster and it's sure to leave some of you shaken and stirred. So buckle up, and let's take a look.
The chapter starts off with a big number, a big band sound: "Clap your hands, all you peoples; shout to God with loud songs of joy". Let's just call it a call to worship. The writer then goes on to say that God is the most high over all the earth, and that He should be feared.
Then things get a bit more exciting. There are the lyric "God has gone up with a shout; the Lord with the sound of a trumpet". It's like the writer is saying: "Let's get this party started!"
And then it's time to really get into it. There are words of praise, words of joy, and words of thanks to God. Words like "Sing praises to God, sing praises; sing praises to our King, sing praises!".
Finally, the writer calls on the nations to submit to God and to give Him glory. So, it's like he's saying: "Come on, everybody, let's get together and praise the Lord!"
So that's the story of Psalms 47. All in all, it's a pretty upbeat chapter, so let's all join together and give praise to the Lord. Amen!
