Hey folks, see here, Jack, this chapter's all about justice. My father used to say that justice is blind, no malarkey! So, here's the deal in Exodus 22: if you steal an ox or a sheep, you gotta give it back fourfold. I'm not joking! If you steal something and it's found in your possession, you gotta pay back double. No excuses, no ifs, ands, or buts. And if a man causes a fire, he has to make full restitution. That's just the way it is.
Also, if you borrow something from your neighbor, you gotta return it in one piece. Or uh, you know, you gotta pay for the damage. And if a man seduces a virgin, he has to marry her and pay her father a dowry. I tell you what, literally, if he refuses, he has to pay the dowry anyway. No way around it. And if a witch or sorcerer's found in the land, they gotta be stoned. Not gonna happen.
Hey, listen, Jack, this chapter's full of justice and equality. Excuse me, what was that? Justice and equality, that's what it's all about. C'mon, man!
