Batman: Greetings, Robin! I see we are in 1 Samuel 18.
Robin: Yes, Batman! It says here that Saul was very pleased with David and made him a commander in the army.
Joker: Hahaha! As if Saul didn't realize what a threat David was!
Batman: Indeed, Joker! Saul saw in David a man of great courage and ability, so much so that he gave him his own daughter, Michal, in marriage.
Catwoman: But wasn't Michal promised to someone else?
Robin: Yes, Catwoman. She was promised to a Philistine warrior, but Saul gave her to David instead.
Riddler: How very generous of Saul!
Batman: Indeed! But Saul's generosity only went so far. He became jealous of David after he defeated Goliath and began plotting to kill him.
Penguin: So what happened next?
Robin: Saul tried to give David to the Philistines in exchange for a hundred Philistine foreskins, but David was able to get out of it and return with two hundred foreskins instead.
Batman: This only made Saul more jealous and he began to pursue David even more fiercely.
Joker: What a villain!
Batman: Indeed! But David was able to escape and eventually became king in Saul's place.
Robin: What a thrilling chapter, Batman!
