    Robin: Holy Bible Stories, Batman! What do you make of Isaiah 1? Batman: It's a doozy, Robin. In Isaiah 1, the prophet Isaiah is telling the people of Judah that God is displeased with their wickedness and their lack of faith.

    Batman: Ah, Robin, the Book of Isaiah is full of mysteries and prophecies. Robin: What does Isaiah 2 say? Batman: Let me put on my Bat-glasses and see. Ah, it speaks of a day when "people will beat their swords into plowshares and their spears into pruning hooks.

    Joker: Ha ha ha ha! What a wonderful chapter we have with us today, Batman! Batman: Indeed, Joker, Isaiah 3 is filled with some serious warnings for the people of Jerusalem. It seems that the Lord is unhappy with the city for its wickedness and will punish it.

    Batman: All right, Robin, what do we have for Isaiah 4? Robin: Uh, Batman, it says in the Bible that seven women shall take hold of one man in that day, saying, "We will eat our own bread, and wear our own apparel: only let us be called by thy name, to take away our reproach.

    Batman: What a pickle we find ourselves in, Robin! Robin: Indeed, Batman! What do you make of this Isaiah 5? Batman: Well, it's a warning of what will happen if the people of Israel don't repent of their wickedness and turn to God.

    Robin: Holy haberdashery, Batman! What does Isaiah 6 have in store for us? Batman: Well, Robin, Isaiah 6 is about a vision that the prophet Isaiah experienced. He saw a vision of God on a throne and heard seraphs crying out “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of hosts.

    Batman: Robin, Riddler, the Book of Isaiah is full of prophecies and warnings from God! Robin: Holy prophecy, Batman! Riddler: Yes, and this chapter has a particularly important one. It says that a young woman will give birth to a son and he will be a sign from God that the people of Judah will be protected from their enemies.

    Batman: Robin, we must turn our attention to the book of Isaiah! Robin: What do you mean, Batman? Batman: It says in Isaiah 8 that the Lord Almighty is the one whom we should fear, not mere mortals.

  • Chapter 9

    Batman: I sense a stirring in the air, Robin. Robin: What is it, Batman? Batman: The people of Israel are rejoicing - for a son has been born who will bring great joy and peace to the land! Penguin: Ha ha ha, how droll! What a sad little story.

  • Chapter 10

    Batman: The Lord has a message for all of us, Robin! The Lord has told us that if we trust in him, we will be victorious, but if we don't, we will be conquered. Robin: What does that mean, Batman? Batman: It means that if we are obedient and follow the Lord, he will give us strength and power to defeat our enemies, but if we don't, our enemies will have strength and power to conquer us.

    Batman: Robin, did you read the chapter from Isaiah 11? Robin: Yes, Batman, I did. It says that a new King will be appointed, chosen by God and filled with His spirit. He will bring justice and righteousness to the world.

  • Chapter 12

    Batman: Robin, we have come to Isaiah chapter 12! Robin: Holy scripture, Batman! What does it say? Batman: It begins with a song of thanksgiving! Catwoman: Boring. Batman: Not so, Catwoman! It says, "And in that day thou shalt say, O Lord, I will praise thee: though thou wast angry with me, thine anger is turned away, and thou comfortedst me.

    Robin: Holy ancient prophecy, Batman! It says in Isaiah 13 that a great army will come and cause destruction and terror in the land. Batman: That's right, Robin. The Lord of Hosts musters the army to punish the wickedness of the people.

  • Chapter 14

    Batman: Hold on, Robin! It looks like we have a case to solve in Isaiah 14! Robin: You mean the one about Lucifer's fall from heaven and his attempt to take over the world? Batman: That's right, Robin.

  • Chapter 15

    Batman: Robin, we must aid the people of Moab! Robin: What has happened, Batman? Catwoman: The destruction of the land of Moab is taking place! Batman: It's a terrible sight, Catwoman. Isaiah says that in the night, the land of Moab shall be destroyed.

    Robin: Holy cow, Batman! It looks like Isaiah 16 is about a prophecy about Moab! Batman: That's right, Robin. The Lord says He will bring destruction upon Moab unless they come back to Him. Catwoman: And the Lord will have mercy on those who turn to Him.

    Batman: The prophet Isaiah foretells of a great calamity that will befall the city of Damascus! Robin: Holy calamity, Batman! What will happen to them? Batman: The city will become a ruinous heap, and its towns will be deserted.

  • Chapter 18

    Batman: Robin, we must travel to the land of Cush! Robin: Why is that, Batman? Batman: There is a message from the Lord of Heaven's Armies that needs to be shared. Catwoman: What is the message? Batman: The message is that the Lord of Heaven's Armies will send a great messenger to the land of Cush.

    Batman: Holy schooners, Robin! I'm afraid we're in for a stormy night! Robin: What do you mean, Batman? Batman: The prophet Isaiah has foreseen a great disturbance in Egypt, with mighty winds and waves of destruction!

  • Chapter 20

    Batman: Robin, we must take on the challenge of summarizing Isaiah 20! Robin: Holy Scripture, Batman! Batman: Indeed, Robin. In this chapter, the Lord told the prophet Isaiah to take off his clothes and walk around half-naked for three years.

    (Batman and Robin enter the scene, looking concerned) Batman: Robin, something's afoot in the kingdom of Babylon. Robin: What could it be, Batman? Batman: I'm not sure, but according to Isaiah 21, it's a vision of judgment.

    Batman: Robin, the prophecy of Isaiah 22 speaks of a ruler in Jerusalem who trusts in his chariots and horses. Robin: But Batman, if they trust in their own strength, they will be defeated! Batman: That's right, Robin! It also speaks of the officials of Jerusalem being confused and drunk with wine!

    Joker: (sneering) Ha-ha-ha! Isaiah 23? What kind of a batty chapter is that? Batman: (grimly) It's not funny, Joker. It's a chapter about judgment and destruction. Robin: But there's hope, too! It says Tyre will be destroyed, but then it will be restored and God's favor will be restored to them.

    Batman: "This chapter of Isaiah is filled with warnings, Robin. It speaks of a day when the earth will be filled with chaos and destruction. Robin: Holy hailstorms, Batman! What will happen to us? Batman: The Lord will punish those who have caused this chaos, Robin.

    Joker: *laughs maniacally* I finally have the upper hand! I'm gonna rule this city and nothing can stop me! Batman: Not so fast, Joker! The Lord has something to say about your plans in Isaiah 25. Robin: What does it say, Batman?

    1-21. Batman: Holy prophecy, Robin! According to the book of Isaiah, the Lord will grant us perfect peace if we trust in Him and keep His laws. Robin: And if we humble ourselves and open our hearts to Him, then He will protect us and keep us safe.

    Batman: Ah, another chapter of the Bible! This one is Isaiah 27. Robin: What does it say, Batman? Joker: I'd like to know too! Batman: Ah, Joker! There are ancient prophecies of judgment and redemption in this chapter.

    (Batman and Robin enter a room and find the Joker, Catwoman, Riddler, and Penguin) Batman: Joker! What are you doing here? Joker: Why, I'm here to tell you about Isaiah 28! Batman: You? Joker: Yes! I'm here to tell you about the prophecy of doom for Ephraim and Judah.

    Batman: Holy Bible, Robin! Have you read this chapter of Isaiah? Robin: I sure have, Batman! It's full of mysterious prophecies, like many of the other chapters. Catwoman: What kind of prophecies? Batman: For starters, it speaks of a great destruction.

    Batman: Robin, our mission today is to investigate the prophecy of Isaiah! Robin: Holy prophecy, Batman! What does it say? Batman: It says that the people of Judah are relying on Egypt and not on the Lord, and they will be punished for it.

    Batman: Robin, the Prophet Isaiah has a warning for the people of Jerusalem. Robin: What is it, Batman? Batman: He says that if they rely on Egypt for help rather than on God, they will be punished.

    Batman: "Foul play is afoot, Robin! The Prophet Isaiah foretold of a day when the Lord's wrath would be so strong that it would consume the land of Edom!" Robin: "Gosh, Batman! What will become of Edom?"

    Batman: The book of Isaiah 35 speaks of a highway that will be built for the return of the Lord. Robin: And what a highway it will be! There will be no obstacles on it, no stones or rough terrain, no swamps or bogs.

    Batman: We've got a job to do, Robin. We've got to take on King Sennacherib and his troops! Robin: You mean the one who's threatening Jerusalem? Batman: That's the one. He's sent his chief officer, the Rabshakeh, to Jerusalem to scare the people and convince them to surrender.

    1-38:22. Batman: Alright Robin, what do we have here? Robin: It looks like we're in the book of Isaiah, Batman. Batman: Ah, yes. The king of Assyria is attacking Jerusalem and King Hezekiah is asking for help.

    Batman: Robin, I think we need to look into the events described in Isaiah 38! Robin: What is this chapter about? Batman: It tells of Hezekiah, the king of Judah, who was sick with a boil. He prayed to God and God promised to heal him and to add fifteen years to Hezekiah's life.

    Batman: Robin, we have been alerted to a disturbance in the kingdom of Judah. Robin: Oh no, what is it? Batman: King Hezekiah of Judah has been showing off his wealth and treasures to the Babylonian representatives.

    (Batman and Robin enter the Batcave) Robin: Holy Bible, Batman! What a chapter! Isaiah 40 has a lot of promises of comfort and hope. Batman: Yes, indeed, Robin. It's a reminder that God will always be with us and help us through our struggles.

    Batman: I, Batman, am here to fight for justice in the world! Robin: That's right, but first we must review the Bible and discuss Isaiah 41. Joker: Oh, what does it say? Batman: The Lord says that he will strengthen his chosen one and help them.

    Batman: Holy biblical verses, Robin! We have come to Isaiah 56, where the Lord promises to gather the outcasts of Israel, and to bring them into His fold. Robin: And the Lord promises to be a refuge to those who have kept His Sabbath and chosen His covenant, right?

    Batman: Trouble is afoot, Robin! Robin: What do you mean, Batman? Batman: I'm referring to the people of Israel in Isaiah 57, who are turning away from God and embracing idolatry. They are creating their own paths instead of following God's path.

    Batman: Robin, we must take a stand against the injustice of our day! Robin: What are we going to do, Batman? Batman: We must make sure that the people of Israel are living up to the Lord's commands. That is why I'm referring to Isaiah 58.

    Batman: Robin, did you know that the words of Isaiah 61 tell us that the Lord will bring good news to the afflicted and bind up the brokenhearted? Robin: Holy healing, Batman! That's some good news. Joker: Oh, brother.

    Batman: This is Isaiah 62! Robin: What do we need to know, Batman? Batman: Well, Robin, it talks about the Lord's love for Jerusalem. He says He will never forget His city and that its name will be changed to one that speaks of his delight in it.

    Batman: Here we are, Robin, in the book of Isaiah. Robin: What does it say, Batman? Batman: It says, "Who is this that cometh from Edom, with dyed garments from Bozrah? This that is glorious in his apparel, travelling in the greatness of his strength?"

    1-12. Batman: Oh no, Robin! It looks like the evil villain, Riddler, has struck again! Robin: What has he done this time, Batman? Batman: He's taken over Isaiah 64:1-12. Riddler: Ah-ha-ha! That's right, Robin.
