Joker: (sneering) Ha-ha-ha! Isaiah 23? What kind of a batty chapter is that?

Batman: (grimly) It's not funny, Joker. It's a chapter about judgment and destruction.

Robin: But there's hope, too! It says Tyre will be destroyed, but then it will be restored and God's favor will be restored to them.

Joker: (rolling his eyes) That doesn't sound like much fun at all!

Catwoman: (purring) I think it sounds nice. A promise of restoration? That's a beautiful thing.

Riddler: (puzzled) But what about the other nations mentioned in the chapter? It says God will punish Sidon, Philistia and Egypt, too!

Batman: (in a low voice) That's true. But the chapter ends on a note of hope. It says the Lord will have mercy on Israel and Judah and bring them back to their homeland.

Penguin: (shaking his head) What a strange chapter. I don't understand it, but it certainly sounds like one to remember.
