    Batman: Out of the land of Egypt, God called unto Moses and said, "Go, and gather the elders of Israel, and tell them I have heard their cries of bondage and bondage to Pharaoh." Robin: Gosh Batman, the Israelites have been living in servitude for years!

  • Chapter 2

    Batman: Holy Exodus, Robin! It appears we are at the start of a new chapter in the Bible. This one is about a woman who has a son and needs to protect him from the Pharaoh. Robin: Gosh, Batman. How will the poor woman protect her son?

  • Chapter 3

    Batman: Robin, did you hear that? Robin: Hear what? Batman: The voice coming from that burning bush. Robin: It must be the Riddler! Batman: It's not the Riddler, Robin. It's God. Catwoman: Interesting.

  • Chapter 4

    Batman: Holy Moses, Robin! Our mission is to bring justice to the Bible's book of Exodus! Robin: Holy Exodus, Batman! What trouble do we face in Chapter 4? Batman: Well, Robin, it seems that the Lord spoke to Moses and told him to go back to his people in Egypt and free them from slavery!

  • Chapter 5

    Batman: Ah, Robin, the children of Israel have been enslaved by Pharaoh and his people! Robin: That's terrible, Batman! We have to free them! Batman: Indeed, but first we must convince Pharaoh to let them go.

  • Chapter 6

    Robin: Batman, what happened in Exodus 6? Batman: Well, Robin, the Lord told Moses to tell the Israelites that he had heard their cries and was going to rescue them. He promised to bring them out of Egypt and into the land of Canaan.

  • Chapter 7

    (Batman and Robin enter the scene.) Batman: So Robin, our mission this time is to summarize the seventh chapter of Exodus. Robin: Alright, Batman! Batman: The Lord spoke to Moses and Aaron and said, "I have made you like a god to Pharaoh.

  • Chapter 8

    Batman: Robin, our mission this time is to take on the mighty plague of frogs that has been ravaging the land of Egypt! Robin: Holy amphibians, Batman! How are we going to do that? Batman: Leave it to me, Boy Wonder.

  • Chapter 9

    Batman: Robin, the Lord has sent a terrible plague unto the land of Egypt! Robin: Holy cow, Batman! What kind of plague? Batman: Hailstones, Robin! Hailstones as big as a man's fist. Catwoman: What a cruel prank.

  • Chapter 10

    Joker: Ha, ha, ha! I've got a great plan to find out what's in the Bible! Batman: Not so fast, Joker! We can't let you get away with that! But it looks like we're already too late- it's time for the summary of Exodus 10!

  • Chapter 11

    Batman: “Quickly, Robin! We must hurry! We must read the summary of Exodus 11!” Robin: “But why, Batman? What’s so important about this chapter?” Batman: “We must tell the people about the Lord’s commandment to the people of Israel to leave Egypt and go to the Promised Land! In Exodus 11, God commanded Moses to warn Pharaoh of the plague of death that was to come upon Egypt.

  • Chapter 12

    Batman: Holy Haggadah, Robin! We've just arrived in Egypt and it looks like the Israelites are being oppressed! Robin: Yes Batman, and Moses has just been commanded by God to lead them out of Egypt. Joker: Aha, so you're up against a force more powerful than you? What will you do?

  • Chapter 13

    Batman: Alright Robin, in Exodus 13 we are told about the Lord's command to Moses to consecrate all the firstborn of the children of Israel, and to redeem them with a lamb or an unblemished kid of the goats.

  • Chapter 14

    Batman: Robin, the people of Israel have reached the Red Sea! Robin: Holy Moses Batman, what will they do? Joker: Ha ha ha! It looks like they're stuck! Batman: Not so fast, Joker! The Lord spoke to Moses and told him to raise his staff and stretch out his arm over the sea.

  • Chapter 15

    Batman: Robin, let's review Exodus 15. Robin: Alright! It begins with a song of praise from Moses and the Israelites as they celebrate their victory over Pharaoh and the Egyptians. Joker: Ha ha! I love a good victory song!

  • Chapter 16

    Batman: (reading from a parchment) It says here that the Lord said to Moses... Robin: What did he say, Batman? Batman: That He would give the Israelites bread from heaven. Joker: Ha ha ha! What kind of bread?

  • Chapter 17

    Batman: Robin, we've arrived in the desert, and the Israelites are getting thirsty! Robin: It looks like they're about to have a showdown with the Amalekites, Batman! Batman: That they are, Robin. But Moses is going to the top of the hill and holding the staff of God in the air.

  • Chapter 18

    Joker: *In a sinister voice* Tell me, Batman and Robin, what have you learned from the Bible this time? Batman: We've been studying Exodus 18, Joker. It's about Jethro, Moses' father-in-law, coming to visit him in the wilderness.

  • Chapter 19

    Batman: Robin, it's time to begin our case summary of the Book of Exodus. Robin: Yes, Batman! What does this chapter tell us? Batman: In Exodus 19, the Lord speaks to Moses and tells him to go up to Mount Sinai, where he will meet with God.

    Batman: (in a serious tone) Alright, Robin. We've arrived at the twentieth chapter of Exodus. Robin: Holy Moses, Batman! What's this chapter about? Batman: This chapter is all about the Ten Commandments.

    Batman: Robin, the Lord gives the Children of Israel laws for their civil and criminal justice system in Exodus 21. Robin: Holy Moses! That’s a lot of laws! Penguin: Indeed! If someone hurts someone else, they must pay for medical expenses and make restitution in Exodus 21:18-19.

  • Chapter 22

    Batman: For starters, Robin, let us review the laws given in the book of Exodus. Robin: Right, Batman. What are the laws in Exodus 22? Batman: If a man steals an ox or a sheep and kills or sells it, he must pay back five oxen for one ox or four sheep for one sheep.

  • Chapter 23

    Batman: The Lord spoke to Moses and said, "You shall not make a false oath. You shall not oppress a hired servant who is poor and needy, whether he is one of your countrymen or one of the aliens who is in your land within your gates.

  • Chapter 24

    Batman: Robin, we must turn our attention to the Book of Exodus! Robin: What does it say, Batman? Batman: Well, in Chapter 24, God calls Moses and Aaron, Nadab, Abihu, and seventy elders of Israel up to Mount Sinai.

  • Chapter 25

    (Batman and Robin enter the Batcave) Robin: Holy Moses, Batman! What did you make of that Exodus 25? Batman: Well, Robin, it seems that God commanded Moses to have the Israelites build a sanctuary according to the pattern that was shown to him on Mount Sinai.

  • Chapter 26

    Batman: Robin, let's review this chapter in the Bible. This chapter is all about the construction of the Tabernacle. Robin: Holy construction, Batman! What did the Lord tell Moses? Batman: The Lord told Moses to build a Tabernacle with frames of acacia wood and to cover it with curtains of fine linen.

    Batman: I have just read the chapter of Exodus 27, Robin. Robin: What did you find out, Batman? Batman: According to the chapter, the Lord told Moses to build an altar of acacia wood, five cubits long and five cubits wide, and three cubits high.

    Robin: Holy Robes, Batman! What's this? Batman: It appears to be a set of garments, Robin. Joker: Yes, but what is it for? Batman: According to Exodus 28, these are sacred garments worn by the priests of Israel.

  • Chapter 29

    Robin: Holy Moses, Batman! In Exodus 29, God gives instructions for the consecration of the priests. Batman: Yes, Robin. God tells Moses to bring Aaron and his sons to the entrance of the tabernacle and bathe them with water.

  • Chapter 30

    Robin: Holy hand washing, Batman! It looks like Exodus 30 is all about the importance of cleanliness. Batman: That's right, Robin. In this chapter, God instructs Moses to make a bronze basin and a stand for it, so that the priests can wash their hands and feet before they enter the Tabernacle.

  • Chapter 31

    Batman: Holy humility, Robin! The Lord has just instructed Moses to share with the people of Israel the very important commandment to keep the Sabbath day holy! Robin: Gosh, Batman! It's so important that the Lord even put it in the Ten Commandments!

  • Chapter 32

    Robin: Holy Hooplah, Batman! The Israelites have made a golden calf to worship! Batman: That's no laughing matter, Robin. We must intervene! Joker: Oh, this I gotta see! Batman: Silence, Joker! You've done enough already!

  • Chapter 33

    Robin: Holy Biblical Chapter, Batman! What wacky adventures will this chapter bring us? Batman: It seems that the Lord has commanded Moses to leave the camp and meet with Him on the mountain. Joker: Ha ha ha! This sounds like a seriously silly situation!

  • Chapter 34

    Batman: Holy Moses, Robin, did you read about what happened in Exodus 34? Robin: I sure did, Batman. It says that God spoke to Moses and proclaimed His name, His attributes, and His expectations for His people.

  • Chapter 35

    Batman: Alright, Robin, let's see what Exodus 35 has in store for us. Robin: It looks like this chapter is all about the preparations for building the Tabernacle, Batman. Batman: Yes, it seems the Israelites are being instructed on how to build the Tabernacle and the things they need to make it.

  • Chapter 36

    Robin: Holy Hebrews, Batman! The people have brought enough material for the construction of the tabernacle! Batman: Indeed they have, Robin. The Lord gave Moses the command to build the tabernacle, and the people have gathered much gold, silver, and bronze, along with all the other materials they need.

  • Chapter 37

    Batman: Robin, we must hurry to the book of Exodus! Robin: What's the emergency, Batman? Batman: We must stop the villainous craftsmanship of Bezalel and Oholiab and their wicked plans to build the Ark of the Covenant!

  • Chapter 38

    Batman: Robin, it's time to review what happened in the Bible in Chapter 38 of Exodus! Robin: Let's go, Batman! Batman: We find out that Moses is told by God to make a bronze altar with four horns, a grating of bronze network, four bronze rings, and bronze poles.

  • Chapter 39

    Robin: Holy Moses, Batman! It looks like the Israelites have finished building the Tabernacle according to God's instructions. Batman: Indeed, Robin. The tabernacle was built with acacia wood and overlaid with gold.

  • Chapter 40

    Batman: Robin, we must begin the final chapter of the Bible, Exodus 40. Robin: Holy smokes! What happens in this chapter? Batman: The Lord commands Moses to set up the tabernacle and all of its furnishings.
