Batman: Robin, it's time to begin our case summary of the Book of Exodus.
Robin: Yes, Batman! What does this chapter tell us?
Batman: In Exodus 19, the Lord speaks to Moses and tells him to go up to Mount Sinai, where he will meet with God. Moses then tells the people of Israel that they must be prepared to come before the Lord in three days.
Joker: Hahaha! What a joke! What do you think will happen when they get to the mountain?
Batman: We'll have to wait and see, Joker. In the meantime, on the third day, a thick cloud covers the mountain and a loud trumpet blast is heard. The people tremble in fear and Moses leads them to the foot of the mountain.
Robin: Wow, it must have been an awesome sight!
Batman: It was indeed, Robin. God then speaks to the people and gives them instructions on how to live. He tells them to be a holy nation, to keep His commandments and to not make idols. He also promises them that if they obey Him, He will make them a special treasure among all peoples and nations.
Catwoman: What a great deal! They must have been overjoyed.
Batman: Indeed, Catwoman. The people then respond with one voice and promise to obey all of God's commands. Moses then goes up to the mountain to receive more instructions from God, and the chapter ends.
