• Chapter 1

    Batman: Robin, I've been studying the Bible, and I've come to Ecclesiastes. Robin: It's a book of wisdom, right, Batman? Batman: Yes, indeed! Ecclesiastes 1 starts off with the words "Vanity of vanities, saith the Preacher, vanity of vanities; all is vanity.

    Batman: Robin, we've come to Ecclesiastes 2. Robin: What do you think we'll find here, Batman? Batman: I'm not sure, Robin, but I have a feeling it won't be pleasant. Catwoman: (Interrupting) I think I can help with that!

    Batman: Robin, have you read Ecclesiastes 3? Robin: Yes, Batman. It's all about God's timing. It says there's a time for everything - a time to be born and a time to die, a time to plant and a time to uproot, a time to weep and a time to laugh, and a time to mourn and a time to dance.

    Joker: *laughing maniacally* "What a tragedy! This world is so cruel and unfair, don't you think, Batman? Batman: *Firmly* "No, Joker. Solomon in Ecclesiastes 4 reminds us that we should be thankful for what we have, and that two people can accomplish more than one.

    Batman: The wise man said, “It is better to be silent than to speak.” (Ecclesiastes 5:2) Robin: So, let's keep our voices down and not make too much noise! Joker: Now why would you want to do that? Live a little!

  • Chapter 6

    Batman: Robin, our mission tonight is to uncover the secrets of Ecclesiastes 6. Robin: Holy scripture, Batman! Batman: Indeed it is! According to this chapter, there are times when people are not satisfied with the blessings they have, no matter how much they have.

  • Chapter 7

    Joker: So what did we learn from Ecclesiastes 7? Batman: Ecclesiastes 7 tells us that it's important to both have a good reputation and to act with wisdom. Robin: Yeah, it's also important to try to be content with what you have and not worry too much about what you don't have.

  • Chapter 8

    Batman: The book of Ecclesiastes is full of wise words, Robin. In Chapter 8, we learn that no one can really understand the work of God. Robin: That's right Batman, no matter how hard we try, we can't figure out what God is up to.

  • Chapter 9

    Batman: Robin, we must hurry! We must get to Ecclesiastes 9 and put a stop to its villainous deeds! Robin: But who are we up against? Batman: Whoever is behind the words of Ecclesiastes 9! Catwoman: What a foolish endeavor! Surely you can't stop the power of words!

    Robin: Holy shivers, Batman! It looks like the people in Ecclesiastes 10 are having a rough time! Batman: Indeed they are, Robin. The chapter starts off with an ominous warning: "Deadly serious work is stupid work.

  • Chapter 11

    1-10 Robin: Holy scripture, Batman! What does this passage from Ecclesiastes tell us? Batman: Well, Robin, it seems to be telling us that we should enjoy life and all its pleasures while we can, but also be aware of the risks involved.

  • Chapter 12

    Joker: Ha ha! Look at all these people, Batman! They seem so worried about their lives and all the silly things they need to do. Batman: Joker, you may be right. It is true that our lives can become cluttered with meaningless activities, but Ecclesiastes 12 reminds us that it is important to remember the Lord.
