    Batman: Ah, Robin, I believe we are in for a very special journey. We have arrived at the second chapter of 2 Chronicles. Robin: What can we expect to find here, Batman? Batman: Well, Robin, this chapter tells us of King Solomon's plans to build a temple for the Lord in Jerusalem.

    Batman: Robin, what do we have in store for us today? Robin: Well, Batman, today we are looking at 2 Chronicles 3. It tells us about the building of the temple of the Lord. Batman: Ah yes, the temple.

    Batman: Greetings, my sidekick Robin! What peril do we face this fine day? Robin: We don't face peril, Batman, but we must remember the great works of King Solomon! Batman: Ah, yes! The great King Solomon! What did he do?

    (Scene opens in the Batcave. Batman and Robin are discussing the latest chapter of the Bible, 2 Chronicles 5.) Batman: Ah, 2 Chronicles 5. Let's see what we can learn from this chapter. Robin: Right. What does it say?

    Batman: Robin, our mission is to look into the events of 2 Chronicles 6! King Solomon has finished building the Temple of the Lord and is now dedicating it in prayer. Robin: Holy dedication, Batman! What did he pray?

  • Chapter 7

    Batman: It looks like we have a new mission, Robin. In 2 Chronicles 7, the Lord appears to Solomon and commands him to build a temple. Robin: Holy architecture, Batman! What else does it say? Batman: Well, it says that if the people follow the Lord's commands and obey his decrees, he will bless them with fertility and health.

    Batman: Robin, it looks like Solomon has been busy! Robin: It certainly does, Batman! 2 Chronicles 8 tells us that Solomon built up the towns and cities he had taken from King Hiram, and then brought the people of Israel from all over the country to resettle them.

  • Chapter 9

    (Batman and Robin enter the scene) Batman: Greetings, Robin, it appears a great event has taken place. Robin: What is it, Batman? Batman: An envoy of the Queen of Sheba has come to King Solomon to learn of his wisdom.

  • Chapter 10

    Batman: Robin, we must stop King Rehoboam from attacking Israel! Robin: But, Batman, why? Batman: The people of Israel have come to him to ask for relief from his father's heavy taxation, and instead of helping them, Rehoboam is threatening to wage war.

  • Chapter 11

    Batman: Holy history, Robin! King Solomon has died, and his son Rehoboam has taken the throne! Robin: But the Israelites aren’t too pleased with his leadership style, so they’ve split the kingdom into two!

    Batman: Robin, we must investigate the news of Rehoboam's defeat at the hands of Shishak, King of Egypt! Robin: Yes, Batman, it appears that Rehoboam has been humbled by the Egyptians and Shishak has taken all of the treasures of Jerusalem and the temple!

  • Chapter 13

    Batman: Here we are, Boy Wonder - 2 Chronicles 13! Robin: What's it about, Batman? Batman: It's about the battle between King Abijah of Judah and King Jeroboam of Israel. Joker: Oh, this should be fun!

  • Chapter 14

    Batman: "Gotham is a peaceful place compared to what's happening in 2 Chronicles 14! King Asa of Judah is facing a huge army of Ethiopians and he's desperate." Robin: "But what can he do? He can't possibly fight off such a powerful army.

  • Chapter 15

    Batman: Greetings, Robin! It appears we have arrived at the Book of 2 Chronicles. Chapter 15, to be exact. Robin: What does this chapter tell us, Batman? Batman: Well, Robin, it tells us that King Asa of Judah was a righteous man and followed the Lord.

    Batman: [narrating] In the 16th chapter of 2 Chronicles, we learn of King Asa's foolish mistake. Robin: You mean when he relied on the King of Syria for help, rather than relying on God? Batman: That's right, Robin.

    Batman: Holy biblical history, Robin! We just finished reading the 17th chapter of 2 Chronicles, and it was full of exciting events! Robin: What happened, Batman? Batman: The Lord was with Jehoshaphat, King of Judah, and he made peace with the northern kingdom of Israel.

    Batman: Ah, Robin. We've arrived in 2 Chronicles 18. Robin: What do you think we'll find here, Batman? Batman: Well, Robin, it looks like King Ahab of Israel has allied himself with King Jehoshaphat of Judah.

    Batman: Robin! Look! It's 2 Chronicles 19! Robin: Holy scripture, Batman! What does it say? Batman: It says that King Jehoshaphat of Judah has appointed judges to administer justice throughout his kingdom.

    Batman: Robin, it looks like trouble is brewing in the land of Judah. King Jehoshaphat has received news of an impending attack from a vast number of nations. Robin: What's he going to do, Batman? Batman: He has decided to turn to God in prayer and fasting, and he has called all the people of Judah to do the same.

    Batman: Robin, something's terribly wrong in Jerusalem! King Jehoram has died and his son, King Jehoram, has taken his place. Robin: Holy History, Batman! What happened? Batman: Evil deeds, Robin! Jehoram was an evil king who did not follow the Lord.

    Joker: Ha ha ha! I'm sure glad I'm not living in the time of King Ahaziah. Batman: Robin, what do we know about King Ahaziah? Robin: Well, Batman, Ahaziah was the son of King Jehoram of Judah. He was wicked and followed the ways of his father.

    Robin: Holy hookah, Batman! 2 Chronicles 23 says Queen Athaliah was executed when King Jehoiada led a revolt! Batman: Indeed, Robin. Queen Athaliah was the daughter of King Ahab and Queen Jezebel. She was a wicked and evil ruler who sought to destroy all the remaining members of the royal house of David.

    Batman: Holy scripture, Robin! It looks like 2 Chronicles 24 is a real page-turner! Robin: That's right, Batman! It says the people of Judah sinned against the Lord so King Joash had to pay a penalty.

    Robin: Holy history books, Batman! It looks like King Amaziah of Judah was doing pretty well for himself! Batman: Indeed, Robin. He had served the Lord faithfully and was victorious over the Edomites.

    Batman: Attention, citizens of Gotham! Tonight, we explore the Scriptures, to discover a tale of a righteous man, Uzziah, king of Judah. Robin: Yes, Batman! He was a great leader and a faithful worshipper of the Lord.

    Robin: Holy Bible, Batman, 2 Chronicles 27 is quite a story! Batman: Indeed it is, Robin. It tells the story of Jotham, King of Judah. Joker: Oh, I know Jotham! His reign was quite prosperous. Batman: Indeed it was, Joker.

    Batman: Robin, it's time to review what happened in 2 Chronicles 28. Robin: You got it, Batman! Ahaz was the ruler of Judah, and he followed the practices of the kings of Israel. Batman: He didn't even follow his own religion!

    Batman: Robin, the people of Judah have turned away from worshipping the Lord and have been following other gods. Robin: What can we do, Batman? Batman: King Hezekiah is going to cleanse the temple of all the foreign gods and restore worship of the one true Lord.

    Batman: Robin, look! In 2 Chronicles 30, King Hezekiah of Judah is calling the people of Judah and Israel to Jerusalem to celebrate the Feast of Unleavened Bread. Robin: That sounds like a great plan, Batman!

    Robin: Holy moly, Batman! It looks like the people of Judah are following King Hezekiah's orders to restore the temple and give offerings to God! Batman: Indeed, Robin. Hezekiah has ordered the Levites to prepare for the Passover Feast.

    Batman: Holy Bible, Robin! It looks like we've got a tricky one this time. In 2 Chronicles 32, we learn about King Hezekiah and the battle of Jerusalem. Robin: That's right, Batman. King Hezekiah was an incredibly brave and wise ruler who defended Jerusalem against the Assyrian King Sennacherib, who was trying to take it over.

    Batman: Holy History, Robin! 2 Chronicles 33 tells us about the reign of King Manasseh of Judah! Robin: Manasseh was a wicked king, and he did much evil in the sight of the Lord. Catwoman: He even set up an idol in the Lord's temple and sacrificed his own children in the fire!

    Batman: Gosh, Robin! It looks like the evil King Manasseh has been bribed by a wicked sorcerer to turn away from God. Robin: That's right, Batman. All the people in Jerusalem have been worshiping false gods and doing all sorts of wicked things.

    Joker: Ha ha ha! What kind of exciting adventures do we get to experience in this chapter? Batman: I'm afraid we can't be too excited about this one, Joker. This chapter of 2 Chronicles is all about King Josiah leading the people of Judah to celebrate the Passover.

    Batman: Robin, our mission is to uncover the truth about the events of 2 Chronicles 36. Robin: Yes, Batman! What do we know? Batman: We know that the people of Judah and Jerusalem rejected God's prophets and instead worshipped idols.
