Batman: Robin, it's time to review what happened in 2 Chronicles 28.

Robin: You got it, Batman! Ahaz was the ruler of Judah, and he followed the practices of the kings of Israel.

Batman: He didn't even follow his own religion!

Robin: That's right, Batman. He turned his back on God and embraced the idols of the surrounding nations. So God sent the king of Syria and the king of Israel to make war on Ahaz.

Batman: But Ahaz didn't stand a chance against them.

Robin: No, he didn't. The Syrians captured many of the people of Judah and took them away as captives. The king of Israel also captured many cities in Judah.

Catwoman: But it gets worse! Ahaz even sacrificed his own son in an attempt to make peace with the king of Syria.

Robin: It was a horrible thing to do!

Batman: So God was angry with Ahaz and punished the people of Judah by sending them into exile.

Robin: But even in exile, they still remembered the Lord and kept his commandments. So God allowed them to return to Judah after a period of time.

Catwoman: Ahaz paid a high price for his sins!
