Joe: Ok, so it's 2 Chronicles 28. What's going on in this chapter?

Expert: Well, it starts off with Ahaz, the king of Judah, doing some really bad stuff. He's worshiping idols and sacrificing his own son to them, and he's also oppressing the people of Judah.

Joe: Whoa, that's messed up. So what happens next?

Expert: Well, God sends a prophet to warn Ahaz of the consequences of his actions, but Ahaz doesn't listen and continues to do evil. So God sends the king of Aram to attack Judah, and they manage to capture a whole bunch of people and loot their land.

Joe: Wow. That's pretty intense. So what happens after that?

Expert: Well, Ahaz finally repents and turns back to God, and God sends an angel to protect Judah from the enemy. The angel defeats the Arameans and Judah is saved.

Joe: Wow, so they get a second chance?

Expert: Yeah, exactly. But even though Ahaz repents, he still doesn't follow God's commands completely, so God sends the Philistines to attack Judah. They plunder the Temple and take away all the treasures and livestock.

Joe: That's crazy. So what happens in the end?

Expert: Ahaz dies and his son Hezekiah becomes king. Hezekiah is a good king and he follows God's commands and leads the people of Judah in worship of the one true God.
