Joe: Alright, so what's going on in 2 Chronicles 26?

Bible Expert: Well, it starts off with the story of Uzziah, a righteous king of Judah. He did what was right in the eyes of the Lord and was very successful, leading an army of 307,500 men.

Joe: Whoa! 307,500 men?!

Bible Expert: Yes, it was quite a large army. He also built towers and did a lot of other things to fortify the kingdom.

Joe: Wow, this guy sounds like a real badass.

Jamie: (From the background) Actually Joe, I Googled it and he was only 16 when he became king, so he must have been quite a prodigy.

Joe: That's incredible! So what happened next?

Bible Expert: Well, Uzziah eventually became proud and tried to burn incense on the altar of the Lord, which was forbidden. He was struck with leprosy as a punishment and he had to be removed from the kingdom.

Joe: Yikes. So who took over after him?

Bible Expert: His son Jotham took over the throne and he did what was right in the eyes of the Lord, just like his father. He reigned for 16 years and was successful in defending against invasions from other nations.

Joe: That's awesome. So what happened after Jotham?

Bible Expert: Well, after Jotham, his son Ahaz took over and he was not as righteous as his father and grandfather. He did evil in the sight of the Lord and even sacrificed his own sons to other gods.

Joe: That's horrible. So what happened to him?

Bible Expert: God punished him with a heavy yoke and he was eventually overthrown by the king of Assyria. After Ahaz, his son Hezekiah took the throne and he was a good and righteous king. He did what was right in the sight of the Lord and was successful in defending against the Assyrians.
