Joe: Wow, this Bible stuff is getting pretty interesting! Our guest today is the Bible expert and he’s here to explain to us what’s going on in 2 Chronicles 5. So what’s the deal with this chapter?

Bible Expert: 2 Chronicles 5 is all about the dedication of the temple of Solomon. The Israelites have been working for 7 years to build the temple and now it’s finally finished.

Joe: Wow, 7 years! That’s impressive!

Bible Expert: Yes, it is. Solomon orders the Ark of the Covenant to be brought into the temple and then he offers a prayer of dedication.

Joe: What’s the Ark of the Covenant?

Jamie: (interrupting) Hold on, I’ll Google it! (pauses to type into phone) OK, it’s a chest that contains the two stone tablets of the Ten Commandments.

Joe: Wow, that’s pretty cool! So what happens after the Ark is brought in?

Bible Expert: Well, the priests bring the Ark into the temple and then the glory of the Lord descends and fills the temple with a cloud. Everyone in the temple kneels and worships God.

Joe: That’s incredible! What an amazing moment that must have been.

Bible Expert: Yes, it was a special time for the Israelites. After that, Solomon blesses the people and then the priests leave the temple and the people celebrate with music and singing.
