Batman: Robin, it looks like Solomon has been busy!

Robin: It certainly does, Batman! 2 Chronicles 8 tells us that Solomon built up the towns and cities he had taken from King Hiram, and then brought the people of Israel from all over the country to resettle them.

Batman: Wow, that's quite a feat. What else did Solomon do?

Robin: He also built the Temple of the Lord in Jerusalem and a royal palace for himself. He also made sure that the people of Israel kept all of the religious festivals, and he even offered sacrifices to the Lord on their behalf.

Joker: Oh, what a saint! But I'm sure he had some nefarious tricks up his sleeve too.

Batman: You're right, Joker, Solomon also had his own fleet of ships and he had them sail to distant lands to bring back exotic goods and foreign slaves to serve him!

Robin: What a scoundrel!

Batman: Yes, but we must remember that even though Solomon was flawed, he was still a great king and the people of Israel flourished under his rule.
