So, we start 2 Chronicles 8 and it's all about King Solomon doing what he does best: building and dedicating temples. He built a temple for the LORD in Jerusalem, and then dedicated it with a sacrificial feast that lasted 14 days. He also built altars for the LORD at different places in the country, and he rebuilt cities and established various military posts. He also made treaties with the surrounding nations, which is good for peace and stability. And it looks like Solomon was doing well for himself, too, because he had a fleet of ships that brought him lots of money, and he had a bunch of servants and officials to manage his kingdom. He was also pretty wise, and well-liked by the people. Oh, and he married a bunch of foreign women, which kinda goes against the LORD's rules, but whatever. So, all in all, it looks like Solomon was doing pretty well.
