Well, folks, it's been a wild ride in the book of Matthew, and this chapter is no exception. Jesus is back in Jerusalem, and he's doing some serious showboating. He enters the city on a donkey and the crowds are singing, waving palms, and shouting "Hosanna!" Then Jesus goes to the temple and starts flipping tables and driving out the merchants and money changers. He's like, "This is my Father's house, and you've turned it into a den of thieves!" But don't worry, he has some parables to explain himself. He tells the people a story about a father who had two sons and asked them to work in his vineyard. The first said no, but then he changed his mind and did it. Then the second said yes, but then he didn't do it. Jesus is like, "Which one was obedient?" The people said, "The first one," and Jesus says, "Exactly. So the people who say one thing but do another - like you - are not really following me." And it's a wrap! Jesus has spoken.
